Hello Dragon Age 2 Community,

I have a quick question regarding the high resolution texture pack. I currently have a 460 Gtx 768 graphics card and I was wondering if it would be possible for this pack to run smoothly.
If the answer is no, than is it possible to use my system ram (which is 4gigs) to use as vram instead?

The reason i am asking about ram to vram is because i used to accomplish this on GTA 4 on the pc by configuring some files.

A fast reply will be greatly appreciated.

From what Bioware posted for the Hi-Res pack to work properly you will need a GPU model that has 1GB or more of Frame Buffer space.

My guess is it will either not run properly or run with a large amount of stuttering.

it would by very iffy for you. It would probably depend on your other settings. I have a 560Ti GTX and it runs smooth as silk (with the beta drivers, the official ones run DA2 like crap on DX11) but I also have a phenom II Black X4 3.4 per core and 4Gb DDR3 1333 RAM. (until Thursday when my other 8 GB gets here).....running Win7 64bit.

You can quickly flip that texture pack on and off in the options menu without suffering a restart or even a lengthy reload. They seem to have made good use of DX11 texture compression. I'd definitely recommend installing it. Note though, that at the highest detail settings (not due to the texture pack itself) there are some performance issues that they need to work out either via patch or driver updates. I'm talking about occasional choppy animations and slowdowns despite otherwise consistent FPS. At least that's been my experience.

ATI 5850 (1GB) and core i5 750 here. The textures are superb btw, compared to DAO.

Deathwing it should work.

I got phenom 955t with an Ati radeon 5830 and 4 gb ddr3 and i run it on the highest setting with texture pack.

It works perfectly fine and smooth
