I go to do the quest "Loose Ends".

I get down to the docks and of course the guy immediately orders me killed. But what he says is, "That's Athendril's whelp! Kill him!"

Him? Uh, but my character is female.

Patch please. We need one. :(

There's always a couple of gender checks that get messed up in a game like this - I had a Carta goon call my girl a bastard, and no not in the illegitimate child sort of way.
At least it's not as bad as the Fallout 3 expansion Broken Steel, which had ONE gender check in the entire thing. And they still screwed it up!

Or if you really want a horrible experience, try KotOR 2, where the game would entirely forget what gender your character or Revan was for entire sections!

Also noticed a few glitches, but so far its no issue, besides people in RL will sometimes twitch and give the wrong gender; so no damage done.

Actually my grandparents are experts at it, since they are from Finland, and they don't have a word for she or he (Hän is used for both genders, and is how you would translate either he or she directly, but obviously not perfectly). So they often swap he to she continuously as they speak, or you simply have to ignore that there is a gender ingrained in the word, and just see it as Hän, a gender neutral reference.

Good point rand, I have had peeps here in Usa call me dude,... i thought that was a male reference? im female, but i usually say o im a gal and then go on, it wast a big deal except sometimes even in dao i spent the entire dalish camp quests being refered to as human and i was female dwarf. that bugged me cuz i was hoping it be a different reaction in some aspects to the races. as hawke is human i thought o well, mb its like dude?

I actually started using "dude" and "man" for both genders while I lived in Amsterdam; it wasn't often, and mostly when out and drunk ~ but still, and some girls did react; and then I noticed that I wasn't alone at all in doing so, I even had picked it up from someone else on the sly.

EDIT: Also I use neither at all when I'm sober and not high ~

I've only noticed one issue with this so far. Oddly enough it was Carver who yelled at me and said "sorry brother" to my female character.

Knowing Carver that's probably his idea of a witty insult.

This; it would actually fit into his character.

Speaking of shemales...i got a shock today when i was playing...gone to the Blooming Rose and after buying the premium services i clicked on one of the near female elves that had the arrow above head to interact...i nearly felt down from my chair when that tiny elf spoke to me with a deep man voice...jesus.

That was pretty awesome, it was a bit shocking that you can't say no and is taken off for the black screen, a bit like the sheep in Arcanum ~
