I created my own class per instructions, but I can't seem to kill the darkspawn right after the talk with Mother, Bethany and Carver - anyone have an answer?

Is there a way to make 2 handed talents work with staff ? Renaming the 2 handed abilities to work with staff or similar ? Thanks

After I added my own class, I can't kill enemies anymore. They just don't die after their health gets to 0. Tried two times, the result is the same. What could I possibly do wrong?
P.S. I have a mod with Bethany alive and Hawke as a mage. Can this problem be because of this mod?

You probably don't have the dlc's need Black Emporium and Exiled Prince for all of them except the ones that say Non-DLC
