I don't know if there has already been some discussion on this, but it appears that companion gifts are in DA2 as well. I found a small ship in a bottle during a quest (I forget which) and it gave me a short scene with Isabella upon giving it to her. Does anyone know any others?

I believe there are 1-2 at least for each character; several got two, and I assume most do, but they can be hard to find (or rather if you don't loot everything not locked down you will miss many gifts).

I think the gift system in DA2 is fine, since they kept the best part of the DA:O system, the special gifts that starts special dialogues with the companions.

I've found a Ring for Varric and the Carved Halla for Merrill in stores, the first in low town, the 2nd in the elven camp.

& I only found the ring in one of 3 games, so not sure when it shows up.
