While I find myself playing DA2 a 2nd time, I notice how much I was distracted by all the folks crying, moaning and complaining about the game, because it´s the sequel of a nearly perfect title, But now I play it really slow with a different gender and class (the differences!), reading every Codex entry - and again I´m fascinated by the depht of my favorite fantasy world. I even downloaded a map of thedas to see where all the places and cities I´ve heard of are located.
Now, I´ve read an interview with lead designer Mike Laidlaw answering the question of where the next dragon age will take place. Tevinter or Orlais? And he was very serious about Orlais! But the greatest mystery and andventure I can think of is the Tevinter Imperium with his crazy mages and violent history and slaves and Andraste and apostates etc. Do we really want the next DA being played between ladies and lords with french accent, royal assassins, cheese and gems and poisened daggers? Hell no! I want to know about the core history of Thedas, the Qunari war, the Black City, the founding of the Circle and so on!

What do you think?
Wher should we travel next, Bioware?
My bet is on Orlais. Why?
Spoiler
At the end of DA2 the Chantry is on the verge of defeat.
The Devine resides in Val Royeaux in Orlais. Plus as Anders was brought back to be a companion, Leliana may also be brought back,
Spoiler
after all her involvement with the secret arm of the Chantry has been pretty much canonized by BioWare
. She was pretty popular with a significant portion of the player base.
I know! They seem to be planning Orlais, theyīre pointing so awkwardly in that direction. But isnīt it sad? Do we want to go there?
Honestly? Yes. Plot-wise Orlais surpasses Kirkwall in almost every way (diversity of environment, factions involved, etc). The feuding nobles, the overcrowded elven alienage, the center of the now besieged Chantry... A game in Tevinter would be heavily mage oriented which would not be a good choice after a game - DA2 - that favors a mage as its main characters.
Perhaps Iīm just afraid of more politics and feudes. I want to see the origins of the conflicts, the raw stuff. Fenris pointed out some really intersting things. In Tevinter, mages donīt seem to care about the structures weīre used to. Like Circle towers, Chantries and Templars. It would be such an interesting dark setting.
But in the end I know I would go for everything related to the dragon age lore, no matter what.

I don't think Tevinter will be ignored. In fact, I think DA4 will be related to Tevinter.
Spoiler
Even if the Chantry is not destroyed, the mages will probably gain substantial liberties - Tevinter may see it as an opportunity to increase its influence or even start a war to restore the Imperium. On the other hand, the Qunari will probably exploit the turmoil in Thedas and the weakening of the Chantry, and attack (remember, the Arishok says, before he dies, that "We will return"). However, it is entirely possible that all these events will be squeezed into DA3.
Bodahn telling you that he is leaving for Orlais since Sandal is going to be employed at the court of the queen
I don't mind, rather it will be a nice change from Kirkwall; but then I'm dubious if I'll get DA3 or not, so it doesn't really matter too much.
Also BW bringing back Leliana is one of the main reasons I'll probably not get DA3, besides the quality of DA2 (Since she was probably my favourite companion, and I don't like to see a broken continuity from DA:O).
Also BW bringing back Leliana is one of the main reasons I'll probably not get DA3,
Really: "I probably NOT get DA3" is the worst lie you can make to yourself.
Youīre sure one of the players who said: Oh, Origins is so much better, Iīll never play DA2! And you played it 3 times, but: oh: those bioware whores ruined my game. Come on. Donīt mug yourself. Youīll be playing the next dragon age game 4 times and wonīt stop complaining while loading up 5 different face mods or whatever. whatīs wrong with you people? you love it. I know you do.

Otherwise you wouldn´t care to post;
I made it out to be too final, it should have read "if I don't get DA3 this will probably be the main reason"; or rather it should perhaps have said "This is the main reason I won't get DA3 at launch, and wait until the reviews are out".
But.
[rant warning]
Spoiler
I skipped out on JE and SW:KOTOR after NWN and only got them years after their release, or I got NWN and played it to act 3 and by then had lost faith in BW; So I stopped playing their games until I finally tried ME1, and it was a mistake to wait since in the end I really liked JE and SW:KOTOR. [I got ME1 1½ years after the release & I only got the DLC aside from the Awakening to DA:O a week ago]
So I'm not addicted to BW games, I often like them, that is true; but I also quit things easily, one one game alone made me avoid BW games for 6 years. Actually with was Obsidian that dragged me back to BW with KOTOR2 (& NWN2).
& I know that according to a lot of people NWN got better once they added more campaigns, and apparently the expansions are really good, but I had no interest in playing them due to the first three acts of the OC. I can be very black and white when it comes to things I like.
So was it foolish not to allow BW to remedy my feelings for them after NWN OC by trying their expansions for said game, or by trying their next games? not even giving them a chance? Yes. I am often too critical and demanding of the games I play, but mainly because once I play them I do care a great deal and will get passionate about them; its like relationships, I rarely get into new ones since it needs to be almost a perfect match before I'll care at all; stupid, but that's how things go.
Also this Otherwise you wouldn´t care to post part is utterly foolish; there is nothing better to push you away from something than passion gone wrong.
So there is a chance that I'll be stubborn and avoid DA3 even if the reviews are golden, and even if I really like what I see; there is a chance that at one point after the release of DA3 I'll be so starved on games that after replaying BG1, FO1 or so I'll decide to try it, even if I didn't like what I saw at all; and there is a chance I'll come around and love it.
& I don't hate DA2, I simply don't feel for the world of DA any more; its like its moot and drab now, and my want for a continuation is completely gone. (since BW have decided to not care about the acts of DA:O)
& You act like I'm a huge BW fanboy; but I've always had issues with BW titles, and while I like BW I always preferred Black Isle when they were around, Troika during their short stint, and Obsidian titles. & I've been looking forward to the Witcher 2 more than I ever anticipated DA2 or I crave ME3 (even if ME3 is close, and in a sense I believe more in ME3 than I believe in the Witcher 2, but then I actually thought that DA2 would be a better game than the Witcher 2, and well it can ofc. still be, but I'm not so sure anymore).
