Making Update to a Defunct Mod

Hi there. I have kind of a specific question about a mod I want to upload.

 

I'm currently working on my own version of a Dragon Age: Inquisition mod that does basically the same thing as this:

The difference is that unlike the existing mod, mine will work with the latest DAI patch. There has been no word on an update of the existing mod from the author since April.

 

I haven't used any code or files from the existing mod, as all I am doing is making some changes to some file settings. I've basically just figured out how to change the settings and created the whole thing from scratch.

 

I'm going to contact the author of the existing mod, to check that they're not in the process of updating it, but based on the "Posts" tab on the original mod, it appears that they may not be responding to messages.

 

Anyway, what I'd like to know is: Is it OK for me to post my version on Nexus, when it's complete?

 

 

 

Also, sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place, or there is an existing thread on this issue. I looked, but I couldn't find one.

well if you want to post your own work that takes nothing from the other mod then you are fine to upload.
