CK Help--Making a Custom Race Meshes/Textures (Non-Playable)

As simply put as I can make it, to avoid confusion. I'm trying to make a custom race, which will be NON-PLAYABLE, for a follower mod I am making with a couple friends (The Twilight Princess, from the Zelda game of the same name ;3). Only one or two characters will be using this race (depending on if we ever implement a quest). I have the official CK tutorial that I'm working through as I do this, but I have no idea how to make the textures/meshes needed for the custom race to work and the tutorial doesn't mention it. I am hoping somebody on here knows what to do and can help me? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I think I've listed all the information needed, but ask if I left anything out.

Thank you very much!

I haven't gotten into this area yet, myself, but I think you either need Nifskope or Autodesk 3DS Max 2012 to alter meshes. The process for getting the meshes into either of those I do not know. The texture, itself, should be fairly easy, though.

Simply use a BSA Extractor to browse through the Skyrim.bsa until you find the skin texture you want. Extract that skin texture and recolor it to match Midna. I've already done a few texture re-colors myself so once you've gotten the skin and recolored it, I can help you get it into the game and attached to your custom race.

EDIT: While tweaking meshes is probably a useful skill to have for Modding Skyrim there's probably an easier way to achieve what you want. Why not just recolor the skin as I've already said and simply copy another race and modify it's height to be a little taller, I seem to remember Midna as being taller than regular Hylians, or are you and your friends trying to make the little Midna from throughout the game?

@KaelVirum I'm sorry it's taken so long to respond! ^^'

Okay, cool. So can I use 7zip to unzip the bsa file? And I can recolor it in creation kit itself, or do I need to use gimp/Nifskope/ect?

No, we're doing the 'humanoid' Midna form. So making her taller would be better than just dinking around with the meshes themselves? And that's something I could edit, again, in creation kit, correct?

Thank you very much for your response! I'm sorry I couldn't respond sooner!
