Will this laptop be suited for what I need?

Recommended Posts

Couldn't find help in some other forum, hoping that you guys can help out.

Can anyone tell me if this is a decently capable laptop? I know i'm missing out on storage space, however I do have more than enough external HDD's.
For instance, can I play Skyrim with high graphics, or either with mods that have good graphics? Like.... I would LOVE to be able to run some nice ENB's.
How is the display? For most people, is 13.3 decent? Really, this laptop is for college. But I would not want it to be incapable of playing a good game every now and then. Most thing that I'm playing are really just games from before 2012. Not planning to do a whole lot of ARMA 3, or Star Citizen on uber ultra maxx.
TR:2013 (I don't even have this game, but i'm just wondering. I kind of want to get it. How will I do?)
Alien: Isolation (Don't even have it, same story)
Bioshock infinite
-Doesn't have to be max graphics
Borderlands 2
-Right now, I can only run BL2 on low.......
And of course, Skyrim! What could this laptop do for Skyrim?

It seems like there is no graphic card listed, then it's probably something like an Intel HD. Then it's definitely college only.

You should use Intel graphics only for desktop and 2D games, because such cards and thin laptops are susceptible to overheating, even with medium or low settings.

Or do you know what graphic card is built-in? Correct if I'm wrong :D

Huh. Thanks, I totally didn't notice the lack of a gpu thingy.

I simply looked up "asus zenbook ux306la" though and.. I dunno. It looks like it's supposed to be a portable, like the dell xps 13.

This is what I've found though

Basically bad news? Sorry I don't know myself.

  • 2 weeks later...

generally, for ANY kind of gameing on a laptop you want dedicated graphics, meaning it will have a small onboad card for minor things, and a separate, much larger card for gameing and such, description will mention a dedicated graphics card.

and LadyMila's sugested laptop is a good one. though it should be noted that you will notice the speed of that processor.
