I believe that the effects are cumulative, the one simply adding to the others. So potentially you could have Anders with an astronomical Health Regen rate by getting him to Rivalry and then piling on more +[x] equipment: staff, amulet, belt, and two rings.

I really hope that its cumulative, or most trinkets would be worthless ~ but there might be caps like in DA:O and you might not be able to get more than 50 in health regen or similar (wasn't there a trinket in DA:O that had more resistance to some element than you could possible have due to the cap?).

i doubt they can give +50 health regeneration!

there are other talents that give +10 stamina reg.......but the don't regen 10 points every thick
That's why i don't understand the descriptions and how regeneration works in DA2

That's exactly what unlocking the "Anders Rivalry" is supposed to grant.

(And there's no reason to think that other "+[x] Health Regen" won't work on top of that. Heck, some items grant elemental resistances in the thousands, so the game obviously has some pretty high caps for this kind of thing!

Given how borked many of the abilities are, it might not do anything at all; but I suspect that these +X to health and stamina isn't +X/s but rather that they work differently; since I don't see any drastic change when you add lots of mana or stamina regen trinkets on a character.

Also as noted above they have given you, since old BG times, items that can give you more resistance to a damage type than you can actually have, and thus you would actually get less than what was proclaimed. (100% would turn to 85% since it would be capped at that in BG2 for example).

I believe they did this in DA:O, but I could be mistaken since I played BG2 recently.

& as Thandal points out values are interesting in DA2.

Well, there's a significant difference in effect between "+ to Regen", and "+ to Attribute", and "Plus to Resistence". But given the impact of the well-documented Isabela and/or Sebastian Friendship bugs, it appears that the game engine is able to handle all of those calculations correctly, it's simply the assigning of the correct internal values that was borked, (on-screen info opposite of behind-the-scenes results, then repeated application...) But I haven't seen any reports that item-related buffs aren't working, or that the Anders' relationship bonus is glitched.

Probably not, but it would be nice to see some sort of indication that everything adds up, and are not overriding each other; esp. since BioWare have been shady with that in the past (as have other developers).

from what ive noticed is the +X regen reduces the time between healing ticks. i havent noticed any change in the amount each tick restores just how fast it ticks.

That's exactly what I would expect from a "Regen" buff.
