Maanfall
I'm at a real loss here. When I talk to siddgeir, he gives me the some basic dialogues but I have nothing to respond. I've already tried seeing if I have any of those quests that interfere with getting any quests from Siddgeir (Rare Gifts etc.). I've also gotten the letter from the jarl that I can purchase a house and supposedly a quest should start in which you go to the jarl and you need to do some things for him. But this doesn't start. He already says something among the lines that he appreciates someone that can get things done, even though I've never met him. I've also tried it on a new character with only this as a load order: Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmUnofficial Skyrim Patch.espDawnguard.esmUnofficial Dawnguard Patch.espHearthFires.esmUnofficial Hearthfire Patch.espDragonborn.esmUnofficial Dragonborn Patch.espAlternate Start - Live Another Life.esp But to no avail. Even reinstalling skyrim and mods won't solve the problem. And I do have a legal copy of Skyrim.Console commands to start the quest manually also doesn't work. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this bug? Many thanks! Edited September 2, 2015 by Maanfall
Bugnexus7
I had the same problem in one playthrough. I never did fix it. But, I did figure out that it is a bug that is related to the start of the hearthfire content quest, as that is the moment I lost dialog with Siddgeir (level 9). So, in a later play-through I tried something and it seemed to solve the issue. I use a mod called "Timing is Everything" and it allows you to set level requirements for many quests. I simply set the Hearthfire quest to require level 50 before it would start (it normally starts at level 9). That way, I had completed all of Siddgeirs Vanilla quests before the Hearthfire quests ever triggered. Once I completed all of his quests I went back into the MCM for "Timing is Everything" and set the level requirement to one level higher than I was at that moment (level 39, I think). The Hearthfire quests fired off the next time I leveled, leaving Siddgeir with the expected, proper dialog options. I realize it is probably too late to fix a current save, but going back to a save at level 8--before the Hearthfires quests fired off--installing the mod I mentioned, and setting the quest to fire later on, might still be doable. Hope that helps. Ciao,Bug Edited September 2, 2015 by Bugnexus7
Maanfall
Well I tried you fix, and it's partially working. I got the Rare Gifts quest and completed it, but after that I still don't get the quest that orders me to kill some random bandit leader. I noticed that after completing the Rare Gifts, Siddgeir's relationshiprank stayed at 1. I tried setting it to 2 or 3 with player.setrelationshiprank 19822 2 but he still won't give the dialogue. Console commands doesn't work either.(I've not done the DB questline because forums suggest that's the main cause, I also don't have any 'kill a bandit' or 'get a bounty' quests in my log). EDIT: I've just set the relationshiprank of Nenya to 3 and that allowed me to purchase the house. Not ideal, but this way I don't have to temper with CK or something else that could break the game. Thanks for the help anyway Bugnexus Edited September 3, 2015 by Maanfall
