Dragon Age 2: My Pet Peeves. What's yours?

1.) My biggest pet peeve of all was the mindless killing throughout the entire game. At every turn there were hordes of people or things to kill. (There must have been several thousand of those mindless idiots.) It reminded me of my dislike for the game, "Mortal Kombat," where the enemy respawns from above, dropping in like unwanted ants to a picnic basket.
a.) Even some of the dark spawn were reminiscent of ancient Samurai Japanese warriors, with their silly helmets.
Clearly the game was designed specifically for mindless arcade console playing children between the ages of fifteen and thirty.
2.) Next, I must include the constant reuse of scenery. (It's just like EA to cut corners to save a buck. Who cares about quality right EA?)
3.) In addition, they took what could have been another epic game from Bioware and turned it into an EA cheaply made mindless hack-and-slash game.
4.) Finally, I don't know about anyone else, but it seems like every time I exit the game, on PC, when I restart the game I have to go into the "Options" to reset the full screen again and again, and again.
5.) Judging from some of the graphics --especially the hands, Bioware has left it up to modders to fix. Otherwise, all of the hands look like everyone have Crippling arthritis. Cheap Bioware: very cheap! You should be ashamed. Where is your sense of professional artistic craftsmanship?
I just feel like I spent $60 on a game that was disappointing: And, a game that I probably won't ever play again. But, thank God for Dragon Age Origins. That is still my most favorite game: and one that I am currently still playing.

But...uhm...I don't think there really is any reason to run through Dragon Age 2 again. I find Dragon Age: Origins is better to play again, because in Origins, you could actually make decisions that affect the game...and choose a race/background.
But, yeah...combat in DA2 is much better than in Origins, but the environment and everything in Origins makes the negative stuff go away.

Wizard renegade: Don't trust her, she is with Meridith!
Hawk: But you are a Blood Mage I saved you from the Templars earlier.
Templar Renegade: I knew you were on our side.
Wizard renegade: She is a liar! Murder! Death! Kill!
Wizard #2: I don't believe Hawk to be my enemy but I am just going to stand here
In the middle of the bloody barage to follow.
Bethany: I have no dialogue apart from my last line, so I'm going to stay out of this fight.
*** Cue battle music ****
Perfectly sane people who know the Champion killed the Arishok in single combat now rush to their deaths.
Bloody corpses litter the battlefield. Reinforcements approach.
Templar commander: Aha! I knew you were with the renegades.
Hawk: (faceplant on palm)

The horrible main-story starts it's fast decline as you head over to the first of these 3 meeting places ~ esp. since I was always an outspoken advocate of the mages, and suddenly, what ever I do, despite ambitions of stealth I'm forced to kill the people I'm trying to protect, simply due to the writers failing to give us anything else ~ and the first real sign of how badly the game will end quality wise is when you stand on that beach.

1.) The new combat animations. All the new animations are very fast and acrobatic, more like a fighting game such as Mortal Combat. Its just too much, they need to tone it down a bit. It really feels to me that it is trying to be more of a console game than a good RPG.
2.) Instead of offering new and creative areas of magic they seem to have stripped a lot of the spells down, then make you spend your leveling points with upgrades just to make the spells as good as they were in DA:O. The only good thing I see coming from this is the upgrades do not take up new slots in the quickbar, which in DA:O was getting mighty full at the end of the game.
3.) I really preferred the user interface from Origins better than DA2. Origins had a nice old timey look to it and DA2 just looks boring.
the only other gripe I have is the location. Hopefully they will create an expansion and open the world up more.

Example ... you arrive in Kirkwall, talk to the head guard, get attacked by an angry mob. Either Hawk or Bethany is a mage flinging spells around left and right. Nobody gets arrested for being an apostate. Nobody cares. Nobody notices that I'm in a group with a GW mage, a Dalish Blood mage and I'm a mage, we're all wearing robes and carrying Staffs ... but that's okay, no big deal.

OK, honestly, it is bad to judge games with ME as prime example, but it is like that.
Once I had finished ME1, I became so happy, FINALLY the game Gods smiled upon us, this was the Beginning of the Mega-Game-Era!!!
Or was it....
More crap released.
Ok, again in comparison to Mass Effect, but still...
Then ME2 arrived...
Marvel...
Astonishment...
Simply baffled...
On regular base I had to pick up my chin, close my mouth.
And again, I figured the Game Gods were smiling upon mankind.
Later I began to think they were the sadist Gods you always hear of.
DA2 is a nice example of this.
Real sad, and even more a shame considering the money we spend on this stuff...
I be waiting for ME3, I tell ye.
