Air walking-game breaking bug for me

so i've read this is a unique glitch and i've encountered it. it won't let me go back down. i check to see if my collison is off and it was. i hardly use the console. maybe twice in my skyrim life. tried to verify cache. nothing. tried to fast travel. nothing. tried to do 2 saves nothing. in fact one went into the ground.

it does make the game unplayable and annoying. for once i was getting back into the game too. any ideas/fixes?

well what i eventually did after restarting my computer just to see i went even farther back and so far it was working. only issue i had so far was a crash while i was in althuard or something like that doing the daedric/dawnguard and whatever else quest. it just closed on me.

i eventually saved over the clipping ones. i figured i wouldn't be able to recover them. i will keep an eye on the issue to see if it happens again. i'm going to see if i crash again in that one quest in a sec.

I recommend starting a new habit. When you want to save don't press F5. Hit escape, save, save new. It's 3 steps instead of 2 but you'll get used to it.

More to the point when you're in trouble you can reload to a "clean" save from a few minutes earlier.

yeah i think i figured out the other crashing. it might of been me running out of the virtual memory. it happened to me last night but when i thought about it i had played for a while. i usually use a 360 controller to play but a clean save isn't a bad idea. i do it from time to time as well.

Quick save like F5 and Auto saves are done without pausing the game, so scripts still cycle. In such a case, data could become corrupt because the save didn't have a complete set of data.

Saving through menu, or even save through console, will get better saves because scripts aren't cycling...everything is paused for the save. Be safe, make hard saves. ;)
