Is there anyway of bypassing the initial training scenes and going straight to the face creating section? I am fed up of having to do that every time I want to create a new character.

Not that I know of. You must be creating a lot of characters for it to be at the point where it causes an issue.

If you're strictly interested in getting to the chargen screen (e.g. for making custom morphs), then you can use the console to teleport your level 1 Hawke to the Hanged Man and then gain access to the Black Emporium from there at any time. Create a save file from there, and you've got a blank canvas for editing morphs any time you like.

Otherwise, I can't imagine why you'd need to create so many new characters to the point that the intro scenes would cause frustration.

Sigh... Me too! I keep trying different characters and playing different ways in the game in the hopes that as the game evolves they will come out with new DLC and some of it will matter. The opening "training scenes" before the chargen are a waste of time after you have played through more than a couple of times, and especially so if you have played DAO and are familiar with the way things work. Besides... I like to make my characters look different from each other though they are all male so far. I just don't like to be forced through the preface part to get to the meat of the game. I only have so much time (Life is made out of time you know!) and I don't like wasting it on things I already know about and don't care to repeat.

This is just what I was looking for, that scene was cute the first couple times, but I got burnt out on it during the demo. Sometimes all I want to do is play with the character creator. I don't know, I just like making characters, even as limited as it is in this game. (mostly for this it is experimenting with different imports than it is the dif character options as the choices you made in the first game have more of an impact on what happens in the game than the choices you make in this game. About the only significant choices you make are whether or not your sibling joins the wardens or not and even that doesn't change the fact that they leave you for most of the game. Even who you side with at the end doesn't change who you fight. But what choices you made in the first game affects what side quests are available.
I feel the same way about the 2nd scene like it later in the game with Varric, when he solo's the guards in his brother's house. It was cute the first time, took me a sec to get the hang of it and then it really gave me a good appreciation for Bianca, so I do not regret going through it once, but after that it is an annoying waste of time. It would be one thing if you got anything out of it, like XP or that chest had something nice in it.

Use the console: http://www.google.co...=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Specifically, runscript zz_dae_debug

Just figured out that one still has to tolerate the initial "Exaggerated" version of the Prologue from Varric, then build one's own Hawke, before using the debug command to hop over the "replay".

Otherwise, it will allow one to jump straight to Kirkwall, (having specified which year-long "apprenticeship" was performed) but one is stuck with the default Hawke morph (and family, and associated name) for whatever gender/class was picked at start-up. Plus, (I assume, didn't play the new Hawke long enough to verify...) the default "Hero of Ferelden" backstory.

As long as one has The Black Emporium DLC downloaded, morph presets don't matter

As long as one has The Black Emporium DLC downloaded, morph presets don't matter

But the Emporium doesn't help when you WANT to create a new character, but don't want to go through the Prologue again. (And it won't help when you want Bethany/Carver to share the family traits...)
