I haven't gotten very far into the mod, but I think the drum solo from Achilles Agony and Ecstacy is enough of a reason for an endorsement. I have high hopes for the rest of this mod.

I loved this mod, the character is full and detailed...and the ending is really good...it made the Struggle for Ruin-Tail's Soul and Mind Worth it, i only wish it went with Shivering Isles, not that it conflicts so much as it isn't influenced by the Events that would eventually take place in the Expansion, like Ruin ending up in the Shivering Isles...though from what i've seen none of your mods really have much refference to the Game world, ie the events that take or have taken place recently (at one point or another in the game world...) This does not take away from the coolness of this mod however ^_^ Well Done...
The Poetry and the Storyline is very good....

I like Ruined Tail and I'm going ot give yo ua thumbs up because you've obviously put a LOT of work into this mod and it does everything it says it will.

Personally, the overly formal language of the dialogue doesn't do much for me, it reads like a college freshman trying to sound smarter then they actually are. Come to think of it, maybe that's part of the character, it would fit with the rest of RT's background and his insecurity issues.

As far as constructive suggestions go, it would be ideal if you could stick the philosophical discussion triggers into a prompt like "Let's talk" or something within his main dialogue box. It's kind of annoying having him launch into a long treatise on the relationship of the individual to society when all I want is to tell him to stay put for a minute. Perhaps you could tie the triggers for conversation into fame/infamy for the player, that would make a lot more sense then the way they are now when every day or so he's talking about the great deeds you've done and enemies you've slain whether you've slain anything or done any deeds recently or not. The thunderclap noise & earthshake effect when he summons his horse is kind of overkill. Lastly, I get periodic crashes when this mod is enabled, most frequently when I go to fast travel after talking to him.

Only Oblivion mod that has outright made me cry a bit (from both hapiness & sadness). It really stands out as a kind of Baldurs gate 2 companion mod only for Oblivion =). After playing through the entire thing the word Ruin will remind me of this mod for quite a while I think.

I had a few crashes & script errors but they were entirely due to mod conflicts and were fixed after a bit. Only thing I might critisize is that the story progresses a bit too fast. Especially when using some form of leveling-pace modification. So a possible alternate version where the active time between each dialogue was maybe tripled would be lovely.

Still, this stands as probably my favorite Oblivion mod so far. And I would reccommend this to anyone who enjoys some character development and just generally enjoys caring about the fate of some wonderful NPC =)

PS: I'll miss you Ruin ;_;

Great mod. Right now I am in the point where I got the assassins letter. I know what to do but damn, its hard.. I tried it first as 6 lvl, then at 8.. Now at 11 and I cant still stand for 1 minute. SPOILER ALERT

In that chamber, when they all attack me, I just cant fight against 10 guys.. And I barely can survive for 30 secs... I also tried running away but no success... It is hard.

But yeah, loved this mod so far, will try it again when 15 level... Also, for some reason I cant find walktrough book.. I looked everywhere in that first edition, but no, I just cant find it...

And also...

"NOTE: This update has been delayed for testing, and because of the pending release of additional voice acting."

There is going to be voice acting? YEAAAAAH!

But I made a big mistake here... Before I downloaded, I looked for a comments what people have say about possible incompabilities etc... But no, some cockholds spoiled the thing for me...

Slight spoilers. Nothing unexpected, though.

I always hesitated to try this one. For a companion mod it's good, but I found the moral theme a little juvenile. I raged when I was given the choice between "optimist" and "pessimist" and then was patronized with the idea that he's a "realist." My character would be more of a realist than the guy who stops me every 500 seconds to brood over the most trivial things. It's as if he took a psychology class in highschool (the kind that functions as a free credit) and suddenly has an opinion on things and stuff and wants to talk about it.

By the time he asked me if I'd change my ways if a friend (himself) asked me to, I was hoping a meteor would crash through the roof and kill him. or at least that he'd leave.

Again, it's well done, and I can't imagine a reason for everyone to not try it out if they haven't.

I'm very happy with this companion and I know a lot of work went into making it. On the other hand, I do have a few things to say about it. As Queldranos already mentioned, I also wish there were more options for Ruined Tail such as sleep, guard a spot, to name a few. Also, I kind of agree with kittencache on the dialog situation. I don't think of it as 'juvenile' and I don't 'rage' over it, but it's sometimes when I just want to check his equipment or change his fighting strategy, he wants to talk, and I find myself just wanting the convo to be over with. If he didn't analyze life as much and maybe acted more like an Argonian, it would be that much more enjoyable. Even still, the assistance he gives me and knowing he'll instantly join me in battle without any issues make these small problems seem unimportant. And I haven't even really begun to get into the quests that go along with him. I'm looking forward to those. Thanks for the mod.

Edit: One problem i'm having is with the horse offered at Weynon Priory. I didn't accept the use of the horse, but Ruined Tail went along and got on it anyway. Whenever I enter a building, he remains outside on the horse. I'll summon him once inside, but then he'll start walking towards the door, only to exit and get back on the horse. I found that reverting back to a save prior to me asking for assistance from Prior Maborel solves the problem. Since the horse isn't offered (and ownership to me not triggered yet), Ruined Tail won't recognize it as an available horse.

fantastic story, you should work for bethesda as a story writer, or as a novelist, i havent seen a story quite like this in a while and it was a refreshing break from some of the other less in depth stories that come with the original
