bobbypie67890
So, YOU PERSONALLY, with the specs you have given, only get 40 fps in in the game without ONE SINGLE MOD installed? If that's really true, you need to reinstall your game from scratch because something is wrong. Other than maybe the occasional stutter when going through load areas (there is a notorious one between Whiterun and Riverwood) you should be able to run 60+ all day long on that rig no problem. No, like I get dips to 40. But then when I turn on Enb. I get the same framerate in said location
bobbypie67890
So any ideas how to fix this?
jones177
The frame rate hits are the same with or without ENB. As I said I don't feel the any more. A good test is to go up to the top of the stairs to Dragonreach & look out onto the city. I get 22fps with all the cards I have tested. With or without ENB. With or without a city overhaul. The only exception is ENB at 3840 X 2160 (4k) then it is 30. For smooth running with the GTX 980 ti I use Skyrim inis without ENB tweaks. In the enblocal I use: [PROXY]EnableProxyLibrary=trueInitProxyFunctions=trueProxyLibrary=d3d9_smaa.dll [GLOBAL]UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=falseUseDefferedRendering=trueIgnoreCreationKit=true [PERFORMANCE]SpeedHack=trueEnableOcclusionCulling=trueEnableZPrepass=false [MULTIHEAD]ForceVideoAdapterIndex=falseVideoAdapterIndex=0 [MEMORY]ExpandSystemMemoryX64=trueReduceSystemMemoryUsage=trueDisableDriverMemoryManager=falseDisablePreloadToVRAM=falseEnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=trueReservedMemorySizeMb=512VideoMemorySizeMb=12288EnableCompression=trueAutodetectVideoMemorySize=false [WINDOW]ForceBorderless=falseForceBorderlessFullscreen=false [ENGINE]ForceAnisotropicFiltering=trueMaxAnisotropy=16ForceLodBias=falseLodBias=0.0AddDisplaySuperSamplingResolutions=falseEnableVSync=falseVSyncSkipNumFrames=0 [LIMITER]WaitBusyRenderer=falseEnableFPSLimit=falseFPSLimit=60.0 [iNPUT]//shiftKeyCombination=16//f12KeyUseEffect=123//homeKeyFPSLimit=36//num / 106KeyShowFPS=106//print screenKeyScreenshot=44//enterKeyEditor=13//f4KeyFreeVRAM=115 [ADAPTIVEQUALITY]Enable=falseQuality=1DesiredFPS=30.0 [ANTIALIASING]EnableEdgeAA=trueEnableTemporalAA=falseEnableSubPixelAA=trueEnableTransparencyAA=false [FIX]FixGameBugs=trueFixParallaxBugs=trueFixParallaxTerrain=falseFixAliasedTextures=trueIgnoreInventory=trueFixTintGamma=falseRemoveBlur=falseFixSubSurfaceScattering=trueFixSkyReflection=trueFixCursorVisibility=trueFixLag=false Without this setup my game is a mess. jones177
For years I thought that the frame rate drops were CPU related. Now I don't know what to think.I do know that GPU usage is the same at 1440 & 4k. The frames take longer to render at 4k. My load list is a bit deceptive. I have no texture packs installed. When I started playing at 1440 & 4k I noticed that some textures looked too sharp & others look too dull. They look fine at 1080 though. Now I install textures manually. If I see a texture I don't like I look for a replacement. The nexus gives me lots to choose from. Later Just curious, if you aren't using any enb tweaks, why are you calling the proxy library and using deferred rendering? You should just use the ENBoost settings if you aren't calling effects. I get 45-50 fps at the top of the stairs in Dragonsreach looking over Whiterun at 3840x2160, and hit my limiter of 60 down in the city. All HD textures, Immersive Citizens AI overhaul, etc, etc. My GPU is a M295x, 4gb vram, just a so-so card.
jones177
On the Realvision page there are Skyrim.ini & SkyrimPrefs.ini suggested tweaks. I used them with my GTX 970 & 980 with no problem at all. For some reason the GTX 980 ti did not like them & the vanilla game had pauses every 5 seconds & stutter. To fix the problem I installed files that I used before I started using ENB. I use most of the ENB effects. The only major one I don't use is DoF. When I run a vanilla game it is at 3840x2160 with ENBoost. Even with a 970 I averaged over 70fps at 4k everywhere except in the Whiterun/Riverwood areas. Thanks for testing at Dragonreach. It looks like the issue is in my game. It is the same install when the game came out. I have never uninstalled/reinstalled it. Maybe it is time that I did. I am glad to hear about other people using 4k monitors. I just got though playing Mass Effect at 4k with ENB & hires textures. It was epic. Later

Later Oh I guess I misunderstood you, you meant no ENB tweaked inis. I thought you were not using ENB effects with that enblocal. My monitor is actually 5k (custom built Retina iMac that I dual boot), but Win7 won't do that high. I plan to wait awhile until Win10 gets stable. It's getting mixed reviews about running older games, and I have a LOT of older games I still like. I have to set the frame limiter in ENBoost, because if I don't I get Havoc stuff flying around, indoors and outdoors. I've seen up to 160 fps indoors, but my average runs about the same as yours at 4k. @bobbypie67890 you might want to try running Skyrim Performance Monitor to see what the game is doing on your CPU and GPU. In my case I traced a weird stutter to the 2 GPUs on my card flip flopping the frame rendering back and forth between them, you could see it in the graphs. Thankfully there is a setting in enblocal that managed to fix that.
