Very nice idea and good work!
I was impressed that such a thing (which obviously adds new nifs+animations to the player model itself) can be installed so easily in the regular way (i.e. packed into a simple .esp, plus some meshes/textures).
The only thing that bothers a bit are the "empty spaces" in the visuals (e.g. the gap between the rear end of the crossbow and the player's hand in 1st person mode, but also between the bolt quivers and the player's back in 3rd person). I wonder whether this could be improved a bit. But it's still great work!

About this MOD: Crossbows of Cyrodiil has been a long-time feature of my mod-set. Just a few weeks ago I was storming Vilvirin right out of the dungeon, and a Bosmer with the sleekest crossbow you ever saw, black and shining in the dim light, punctured my heroine's chest, killing her in her in her first few moments of freedom. Awesome. The crossbows look and feel cool. It's also worth mentioning that this mod corrects an oversight in Oblivion that took away crossbows that Morrowind actually had, because the devs have been quoted as saying that people really weren't picturing crossbows or throwing weapons when they imagined their own ranged characters. They even put in an NPC that makes fun of people who wanted crossbows. This mod and the interest in it proves that to be wrong. In fact, I should hunt down that NPC haha. Crossbows of Cyrodiil is not in my load list at the moment, because I hear there's a problem with Duke's Combat Archery, but also that it's being looked at. As soon as that happens, the crossbows are welcomed back in.
About Crossbows: any statements about all xbows or bows is bound to be wrong. They've both been used for thousands of years (with bows being MANY more thousands), for a variety of purposes, in a variety of qualities, etc. In a military context, the greatest value of crossbows was that they're relatively easy to train the masses to use, though they can be expensive and I can't imagine any xbow loading faster than any bow by a skilled operator. Some had better range than some bows, others, not so much. Good archers had to train for years to be as effective as run of the mill crossbowmen. As far as games go, the game Mount and Blade renders some of the various strengths and weaknesses of each kind to good effect imo (like cavalry with bows is something to be feared if they're good. Cavalry with crossbows is only good for the lightest of skirmishes). And your newbie infantry with crossbows puts a relatively tight grouping of bolts into the enemy, while your amateur archers are questionable at best. Good shields make mockeries of all of the above. Either way, they belong in any pseudo-medieval fantasy game, and I can't believe they took them out in ES4 when Morrowind had them.

Great mod, really adds more depth and even though the bolt takes long to load they pack a punch. Awesome

funny thing though, that companions can use crossbow bolts with a regular bow.

I absolutely love this! I always wondered why they didn't put Crossbows in the original game, as it was a very very powerful handheld weapon in Ye Olde Times.
Thank you for this awesomeness!

Got it. Ofcourse Tamriel should have crossbows, what kind of backwater province is this
EDIT - The silver Crossbow does not have "ignore vulnerability", although it is the arrow/bolt that hits. But as the Silver Bow in Oblivion got ignore set I thought you might want to set it so too for consistency. END EDIT
