Which Desktop is Best for Gaming?

Recommended Posts

Actually screw it i'll pay extra for a step up - http://www.ebuyer.com/722003-cyberpower-armour-elite-iv-gaming-pc-ecc01284

That should suffice yes?

Yes that seems a very good PC conf. The i5 is strong enough and the GTX 960 can keep up with the most games out there.

Even the PSU is from Cooler Master. At least a branded product, and not a "no name" PSU as the most pre-builds have.

And lastly you get 3 years warranty. The most pre-builds have only one. !!!

If you can afford it, go with that setup...and don't look back.

Do you have a nice monitor to go with it? Just asking because I rushed my monitor decision and have regretted it ever since. This one has poor colour contrast and bad pixel size, which hurts the graphics of all my games.

So yeah, make sure you get a good monitor to go with it, otherwise your hardware won't be using its full potential.

EDIT: And if you want the highest framerate possible in Fallout 4, try go for 1080p as opposed to any larger ones.

I got a nice 1080p hd monitor :)

...well the site that sells this desktop apparently won't allow me to pay on finance because the process is "under review" and had been for a while and there's no I am shelling out £600 in one payment, just don't have that kinda cash. So now i'm back square one, looking for something similar for the same price :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:

Right well the search goes on, can anyone tell me which are good and which I need to avoid please?

Found a seemingly suitable UK site - http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/

1 - http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/morpheus-i5-custom-gaming-pc-p-167.html

2 - http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/eos-i5-gaming-pc-p-117.html

3 - http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/chronos-i7-gaming-computer-p-97.html

Another site - http://www.chillblast.com/

A list of gaming PCs here but a lot of them are AMD and would prefer Nvidia - http://www.chillblast.com/Gaming-PCs/

From this site: http://www.ukgamingcomputers.co.uk/

the Apollo i7 Skylake PC is a very good conf, ans will play all today games on high resolutions and high details. (of course if you can spend that amount of money)

From those above, number 1 should be faster than number 2, as GTX 950>GTX 750Ti

As for number 3, it has the GTX 750Ti but a higher clocked processor. So the performace will be higher than number 2 (as number 2 has a lower clocked processor) and close enough to number 1.

I'm not sure if I asked this before, but do you have Alienware in the UK? The X51 isn't a bad machine, can be configured to be quite powerful, and should be around your budget. I think Dell also offers financing .

Yes this is the closest (over) to my budget, but dunno if the processor is as good...?

So I could go with 1 then, and maybe one upgrade for roughly $40. I dunno which would be the best choice for the sole purpose of gaming so should I go with;

A: Power supply - 600w/750w

B: Processor up to i5 6500 3.2Ghz

C: Cooler

D: the step up 16gb ram

E: Hard drive (even this doesn't count, might step this up to 1tb anyway)

Or would only upgrading one of these overheat/overwork something?

The i3 in the Alienware is clocked fairly high, and should do well with Skyrim and a lot of other games - it will do worse with more multi-threaded stuff but a lot of older games (this includes Skyrim) are heavily dependant on single-thread/single-core performance. The GTX 745 is a step down from the 750 Ti or 950/960 though, so that's a concern.
