Great mod, Better than Oblivion's questline.

I have given this file my endorsement.

I've played this quest in a quite straight way, though I didn't have to make much use of the guide (only during the first half, after that, things went straight on their own).
As a quick summary, I'd like to state that I liked the mod very much, and it's well worth an endorsement, although at the same time, I believe that the story could be a little bit less linear.

There are some really very good elements in HOTD that I found breath-taking. These are more or less some creative details and not elements of the story itself, such as:
Spoiler

The story itself, while starting in a very promising way, turned out to be more and more linear toward the end: The choices you are given are slowly but definitely turning into a single-threaded path, and it's sometimes nothing other than following instructions that are given to you by your companions. But I still enjoyed playing it!

One should mention that the background of the story is based on a (from my point of view) very complex and confusing part of Morrowind lore, which can be hard to understand if you don't know the Morrowind main story (and I don't know it). I think that this could be mentioned in the description. But it's not breaking the overall impression of the quest.

Outstanding quest mod. Very nice voice acting, wonderful storyling, pays attention to lore, some very cool items, very nice atmosphere in dungeons and in the Realm of the dead, the nightmares, differs from constant fighting quests with elaborate puzzles (and ******* traps EVERYWHERE! Love it! :P) and nice riddles for solving those puzzles.
Simply put it's great. It's very easily on top with The Lost Spires for oblivion quest mods, in my opinion probably better.

There are a few issues I would like to point out though (SPOIL!!!):

-I checked the walkthrough after having finished the quest, to see what the other choices led to, and I never saw Kat die (I chose her over Dublin, and apparently she dies in the storyline?), nor do I see her in the world of the dead, yet Kat is with me at the end and says I saved her life... :s I was kind of confused and would have loved to see the sequence -_- One thing to say is I didn't romance Kat, until the very end that is (strangely...), which surprised me, yet she is still my companion...and I didn't save her...and I got the letter saying she gave me her amulet to thank me assuming we wouldn't see each other again...soooooo.
In other words according to the walkthrough, I should have failed with all characters and end up with no companion, but I still got Kat, who's awesome but I think its a bug. :s

-There is a bug with the cursed white king armor, you can wear several of the set, and remove just one to remove the curse, but still wear, say the Eyes. :s
3rd person is not possible to use with the White King curse.

-Finally: make the boss stronger! -_- Honestly, I had issues with the undead hords in the dungeons (maybe because I'm an poison, sneaking archer, so I suck against them, but still) while the boss was simply very easy, especially with the bow called Shadowstar I think which you get in one of the dungeons. If you're giving such strong weapons, make the boss harder! Now I know he resurrects over and over while you look for Yurn's body but he's still worthless...

-It's not compatible with one of the Unique Landscapes mods, not sure which one yet, but it buries the Collector's House entrance under a giant tree and 6 feet of dirt. :<

Still loved it.
Thank You.

Hi to all,

i thanks for this mod. But i've a problem (sorry for my quite terrible english and for my bad use of words), i cannot start the questline because after speak in bruma with the man and go into the first cave, i'm enconter a problem because the door (the entrance) of the cave don't appear. instead of the entrance there is a gigant rhomb of ligth with exclamation mark. with my character i can go beyond the mark but there isn't a door ... anyone can help me? i try to deactivate and reactivate (i use obmm with the archive invalidation - i've a lot of mods installed but i have this problem for the first time).

hi

Absolutely fantastic. Easily the most polished, well acted mod I've played through to date. With the overall professionalism, style and execution, I'd award this mod a 9.5 out of 10.

The only niggling issue I had was that it was way too easy to score a romance companion, and lose out on the amazingly acted Wintermoon (by extension). I admit, I cheated rather than being a jerk to Kat and Dublin. Other than that, however, I had an absolute blast. Thanks ever so much!
