Can't properly open any maglock doors via terminals

 

I get on the terminal, and I select [Open Door]. Then it says "Accessing maglocks...", and after about three seconds it says "Security lock released. Opening doors...", but nothing actually happens. The terminal is stuck at the "Opening doors..." screen forever, and if I go back to the previous screen, it says "STATUS: Locked". Transitioning between an interior and an exterior cell causes the door to finally open. I am playing with 'timescale' set to 10, so that might have something to do with it, although I've trying setting it to 20 (default) before accessing the terminal and had no success. If anyone who's been playing with the default timescale can confirm that they don't have this problem, then this is definitely a bug.

I had this same issue. Had to walk away from the terminal and then it opened. Happened on couple different locations. I had the iFPSClamp60 setting in FalloutPrefs.ini, have to try without it to see if it helps.

 

Removing iFPSClamp from the ini file seems to have fixed the problem for me, thanks!

WATER IS GLITCHY


This is not the first time I noticed this issue, but it is the first time I managed to grab a screenshot of it. Basically whenever you're diving, you can hear the sound acting weird. The sounds between being underwater and above water will mix as you swim... It happens because the water, as shown on the screenshot, is actually made in paterns and aren't connected properly. So whenever you cross these lines in the water, the diving sound and being outside of water sounds will interlap for a moment.

If only the sound was the only problem. This area I am in, also has a non-finished water optimisation in which water physics do not apply. Meaning, you will plummet to the bottom. This is the city of "FOREST GROVE" and the area in which you plummet to the ground is right infront of the dam.

Not sure if this is a bug, seems more like a misused feature.

 

The critical banker perk seems to be (from what i can tell of its discription) already in effect at the get go even without taking the perk.

 

After all we can use the critical when we choose, instead of it being used when the bar is filled.

 

Another "perk" i find useless, is the wasteland survival guide book that puts Diamond city permanitly on the map. This really is pointless as diamond city is put on the map after concord mission.

INPUT BUG

 

I have found a huge issue that is making the game unplayable in the way that I like to play, namely in third person view. I am pretty surprised to not see it reported here already, it is a MASSIVE bug for anyone playing in 3rd person!

When holding a weapon in third person, any slight movement of your character (either with a small push of the left stick on controller or pressing left/right with slow walk on on keyboard) causes camera/aiming movement to freeze for a moment. This means a constant stuttering and freezing while playing that essentially renders third person unplayable for combat!

I have confirmed with other players on this forum, Reddit and Neogaf that this is also happening to them. Even on consoles.

I REALLY hope there is a fix for this as it is making the game impossible to enjoy right now. I have spent 15 hours trying to fix this issue and it appears that only a patch from Bethesda will fix it.

(I don't have permission for links so apologies for the odd formatting. Most should be able to figure out how to fix easily)

I am crouching in the video but happens the same when stood up. The link skips to 10 seconds where the issue is shown -

0-10 - Shows that it does not happen with weapon put away

10-20 Showing the freeze. Note at all times the right stick is pushed so that the camera should constantly move, but whenever the left stick is pushed it freezes for a moment.

20-30 Shows how extreme it can be while playing. In this example I am HOLDING the right stick all the way to the right, it should spin constantly, however it freezes every time the left stick is moved!

35-40 Shows how it does not happen if you push the left stick all the way so your character moves fast.

I then proceed to show the same issue going the opposite direction.

The issue is also present with mouse and keyboard when CAPS is on to lock walking/slow movement.

Stop reading if spoiler black out didn't work and you don't want to ruin a hidden side quest.

 

 

There is a pathing problem with "Buddy" and it can't make it to your settlement.

If you send and fast travel, it never arrives.

If you send and escort, it get's stuck in verious places and finally ends it's trip on a bridge that NPCs can not pass.

 

I have tried to upload a photo of the bridge for location but this forum wont accept the url from steams screen shots.

 

So this is really two bugs. Buddy's pathing is janky and it just dissapears after a while of not being able to path correctly and the bridge being broken. (buddy had pathing problems and would dissapear before this as well.)

You can spawn buddy in your location but it loses all dialog options that you get if you loaded it up when you first met it.

 

Since I can't post a photo of the bridge I guess that's for another time but not even your "follower" can cross it, they will swim in the water before they try. If you point dog at the center and tell it to go it just howls at you and looks at you like you are a idiot heh.

So, two bugs.

 

Buddy can't make it where you send it and pathing issues.

Yes, I got it to the settlement now but it took seriously 6 hours. I had to bash it over the bridge and through the water and down the road until it could figure out pathing again.

If you send it to Sanctuary it's a lost cause at this point unless you are willing to do what I did... (I just pretended the bot's navigation was malfunctioning and I had to guide it through.)

It also get's stuck a few other places. On fences and some other things and will not correct unless you "bash to move" it around them.

 

A note for the bridge. It's all NPC's, they don't think it exists. I noticed my dog would go into the water and not try to cross it. When I told the dog to go to the center it would just howl and look at me. When ever I cross it my follower always either just stops at it and re-appears on the other side later or goes for a swim.

I made a new section Locations.

Are you sure? Isn't the critical banker 50% more damage with criticals?

 

The bult-in save manager only works properly when characters have names on the list of recognized names. Any character who's named something else only has their saves located in 'all saves'.

lol I didn't even know about this feature.

Too bad I named my only character Dude.

I think that has to do with how the locomotion in the game is done.

I'll list it but it may be difficult to fix it.

Where is the bridge? It's probably missing navmeshes.

 

2 people in a caravan group not far from Beford Station suddenly disappeared with the cow being the only one that left standing.

Proctor Quinlans dialog options can be completely messed up.

He's talking about stuff you don't even know about and in that moment don't make any sense.

 

Also I have one quest where I still have to talk to Danse and he won't talk to me about it.

I have to look up how it's called though.

Im positive the perk that adds 50% more damage is "Better Criticals".

Invisible HUD

 

-No cursor.

-No HP/AP bars.

-No compass.

-No container menus.

+Can still use Pip-Boy.

+Can use pause menu.

+Can open shop menus.

+Can engage in dialogue.

*Effects all saves - I went back to my very first save. No HUD.

*Happened to me shortly after entering diamond city, and engaging in some sales with Myrna and Arturo (Noticed immediately after dealing with Arturo).

 

Broken fast-travel

 

Apparently has something to do with National Guard Training Ground. or upon finding the lost BoS patrol. I'm not precisely sure what the catalyst is - however, you'll be prevented from fast-travelling with a constant 'you cannot travel from this location at this time.' This would happen even in sanctuary.

 

Possible solutions:

Fast-travel in Power Armor - this didn't work for me, but some people on Reddit claimed this fixed it. Others said the PA worked, but they HAD to be in PA from then on to travel.

Windowed/Full-screen mode - this also didn't work for me, but some people claimed that one setting allowed them to travel, while the other restricted it.

*NG Training Ground Terminal - I learned about this one too late, but they said you can access a terminal at the training ground (I imagine one you already accessed) and something about that fixes it.

 

Interdimensional monsters

 

This happened to me specifically in Vault 81, in a section where a lot of monsters pop out of the ground at once. Two of them became sort of phased. A blue hinge, rapidly flickering in and out, still attacking, but invincible. It was strange to be sure, console 'killall' was the only effective means of killing it.
