This is the GPU I am thinking of getting and maybe a 4k monitor to go with it

With Ultra settings and some graphic mods, what FPS do you guys think I can expect? I would wish for 60 fps solid but idk if thats obtainable

Please forgive me also, I am not tech savvy with this kind of stuff but I try to learn!

Check with some tech forums, but last time I was reading up on monitors/gpus I think the view was a 970 wouldn't really do 4k.

It's still a good card though, fps will depend on how much you try to get it to do, ENB plus tons of graphical mods will make it struggle.

I was using an AMD 290 or 390 (forget which, it was the AMD near but worse competitor of the 970), got 20-30 fps with a lot of stuttering & the odd crash using ENB plus a ton of mods. Gameplay was frustratingly bad - 'course, part of that may have been my bad application of mods, I'm sure some people will be more stable.

Went to a 980TI (joy) & with an ENB & a two tons of mods am getting 60-30 fps, an occasional stutter when a new grid loads/I spin in place, & a very occasional crash. It's far far better than the old card, game's enjoyable.

I'm sure some will say a 970 will give you good fps (depending on how well you mod/how ambitious you are), if you've got a decent non 4k monitor at the moment you might want to think about not spending on a monitor & putting the cash toward a 980TI instead. For me, AMD card to 980TI was a huge difference.

Depends on the resolution. You will get 60fps including mods and ultra settings as long as you won't play in 4K. With 4k your fps will go down significantly but still playable:

I have an R9 290. I am using True Vision ENB and ALL of the finest 2k/4k textures that are available here. I get outdoors 45-55fps and indoors 60fps.

I am currently using a 970 and it will crush games at 1080p and probably up to 2k......but 4k is pushing it.

I would personally hold off on 4k till more people start using it and the video cards catch up. Right now you need a monster setup to comfortably run 4k plus mods.

2k and a light enb is the way to go.

Such a statement is such a nonsense! Especially when you consider that the 4k mods that are out there don't even cover 10% of all textures Skyrim is using. Why should a 4k version of the giants crashes a game? How much gb VRAM do you think will these 4k giants demand?! People always talk as if there is a complete 4k texture pack available! Most of the 4k mods cover small things like weapons and armors! How demanding!

And again: I am using almost every 4k textures available here and I have no crashes and no monster setup. But maybe the way how you setup your game is miserable.
