RyuaNesha,

There is still a limit as to what your computer can handle for a texture pack. Most replacers are aimed at a particular video card (128/256/512). Reading the documentation for them generally tells you which it was made for.

Most 256mb cards can handle 2048 textures, 4096 usually require a 512mb card. But as always, you won't know until you try. :)

I have 512pcie that acts lower tho, but I downloaded this to remove grass completely- outside lag is now gone if I dont have aa on, http://www.tessource...ile.php?id=3110, recomend this as a ground texture if grass is reducing too many frames, set grass distance to 0 and this is good enough to make up for frames

I'm sticking with the The Nearly Perfect Frame Rate FPS Optimizer. It is more complicated but its also more comprehensive.

They actually do different things Sativarg, and would work together to improve Oblivion performance for you. :) To date, there hasn't been a mod that does exactly what Streamline does. Give it a shot, I guarantee it will work hand in hand with what you have now.

So I assume that your mod is compatible with The Nearly Perfect Frame Rate FPS OPtimizer...is that correct? Second thing: you write here that OBSE v.0.9b is required, but in the readme it is written that OBSE v.0.9c is required...which information is correct?

brucevayne,

Yes, completely compatible from what I know, unless he's doing something he isn't telling in his readme. Even then, it's impossible for my mod to break another.

I originally thought it required 0.9c, but it turns out 0.9b is the same from a player's perspective, so anything from 0.9b and up is good.

Thanks Jaga - it's a great idea, and it works for me. BUT - since I've been using it, the game seems to crash the first time I save after leveling. Can you think of any reason that this might happen? Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Crisplion,

Can't think of any reason Streamline would cause that. It doesn't do anything with the character, even getting info about them from the game engine. The only routine it uses in regards to the character is whether or not they are "detected" by other actors (NPCs/mobs) around them.

It uses the purgecellbuffers command, which is also available through the console in-game. You can try it out by hand if you want, hit ` and type in PCB, then hit enter.

I would think it's something else causing a crash and not Streamline. I'll go level up my char and have a look for myself.

Crisplion / Can of cheese,

I just tested Streamline with one of the characters I actually play. I took him somewhere to level him up, saving my game just before he got the level up message so I could repeat the test. I then slept in a bedroll I have and leveled him up, and saved after (both a regular save and a quicksave). I had no problems doing it at all, and both save games worked fine.

Your crash must be coming from somewhere else, is all I can figure.
