Notice to everyone installing

Mod authors exe doesn't install the mod right and the installation instructions within the files are wrong. You have to put "INI FILES" into a new folder you create in your /data directory. "INI FILES" should be inside a folder called "Streamline" and THAT folder should be inside your Data folder otherwise it won't work. What a pain in the ass.

In response to post #18010679.

When installed with Wrye Bash the folder structure is okay, on the other hand. Another reason to use WB.

So I got Streamline 3.1 after my game started to crash every 30 minutes or so. With Streamline 3.1+patch installed, it crashes in 30 seconds. (Currently in the first Ayleid dungeon across the sewers) I did not even alter the sl.ini that much, I just changed the interval that streamsave is performed. I have the Crash Prevention System for OBSE installed, but no perfomance-enhancing mods. Running on Windows 8, x64, 8GB Ram, Intel i7.

I do NOT have the English version of the game though, which is a huge pain in the *** anyways, but should not lead to my game dying after 30 seconds (UOP and OOO are translated versions). 30 seconds is not a figure of speech here, it literally dies within <1 min without fail. Load order looks a bit weird to me, but I did run BOSS with it. I deactivated the Streamline.esp to atleast enjoy 30 minutes of gameplay, but it crashes even faster now.

EDIT: Now I have around 10 playable seconds before CTD occurs, whether I have streamline.esp active or not. Looks my installation is pretty much finished

I know this is two months down the road but I'm pretty sure you should NOT be running Natural Weather and Natural weather HDR together.  Should only be one or the other depending on if you use HDR lighting in game.

Now my questions:

1)  Seems this PDF doesn't exist that the readme refers to but maybe someone here can answer.  Recently rebuilt Oblivion and put streamline in it just like last time.  It'd initialize just fine and I'd get the little "ding" noise and checking console showed that it was good to go and happy and all that.  I added a few more mods a few days down the road and now streamline doesn't initialize on startup.  I can still access the in game menue by hitting ctrl home, then select to reinitialize.  I'll get that chime noise that says it's running, check the console and it says it's running, but there is no streampurge happening.  Watching in task manager on the other monitor and memory useage just climbs and climbs, never purging out, till I hit the infamous 1.7'ish mark and the game crashes.

Prior to the mods being added to an existing game it initialized and purged as expected.  I've tried entering the StartQuest SLini2 command.  Moment later I hear the chime, check console and am told it's good to go.  But again, never does a streampurge.  Tried entering the StartQuest SLini2 command and then also the ctrl home menue to reinitialize streamline and again, I get the confirmations that it's good to go but it apparantly isn't.  No streampurging.

2)  I'm using v3.1 open beta and I extracted the patch overwriting the ESP.  Leaves me with only one ESP in the Data folder proper, but in the Streamline folder inside the Data folder I have an ESPs folder, inside that are four more folders named:

1- Performance Version

1-Performance ESP

2- Debug Version

2-Debug ESP

Inside each of those is a Streamline 3.1 ESP.  I know I don't want the Debug version(s) running but what's the deal with the other two?  The one inside the folder named 1- Performance Version has the same date as that of the one in the patch.  Is this just a duplicate or am I supposed to place that in the data folder instead or as well?

Got myself all kinds of confused and all because I added a few mods.  Any suggestions?  Can you never add a mod to an existing game if you've got SL running?  Do I seriously need to start a brand new game, again?

Thanks.

This is the most ridiculous release naming scheme I've ever seen. So let's see here. The oldest version by upload date is "Streamline 2.1", which was then inexplicably followed by "Streamline v1" followed by "Streamline v3.0 - Open Beta 4". These were all uploaded on the same day.

So now one would assume that they should download the latest version, which is "Streamline_3dot1_Open_Beta", and yet that file apparently requires "Streamline_3dot1_Open_Beta Patch". So I have to download a patch for the full mod...in order to install the full mod? Which gets installed first? Common sense dictates that if you're required to download a patch, then that patch is there to patch a previous version—but apparently we're not supposed to download a previous version?

Also, why does 3.1 Open Beta even exist if the previous point release was never out of beta testing to begin with? I guess the most obvious question though, is why are all of these files even on here if most of them have been obsoleted? Why aren't they at least filed under "older versions"? You have 131,000 downloads of 3.1, and only 71,000 downloads of the patch that is required to run 3.1. I guess that means you have at least 60,000 people out there who can't figure out how to use your mod.

This shouldn't be difficult. Make a version that works. Upload it. Type "download this one" into the description, and be done with it. Thanks.

In response to post #19896569.

Give dat man a cookie, he's speaking the truth.

As for mod. Streamline is the best performance mod out there. Its dramaticaly increasing FPS in and outside the cities and locations. Absolutely must have for 128 and 256mb graphics cards users.
