Wouter445
oke, seen some real world swords last week and not a single sword in skyrim matches anyhting close to them first most swords are engraved "those in museam that is" second the handle is defently not like same as in skyrim.skyrim is a cold region but the sword handle is not protected for cold this is bad for immersion.... kind of bad from moders and game designers not to visit museum where real swords are resented. Novem99
That's because Skyrim has a kind of medieval times setting whereas the SABRES you have shown were introduced in the 19th century!!!
Wouter445
Sabres where already in use in early medieval times.

FrankFamily
So, for you "real life sword" means sabre, interesting... Also i kind of doubt every medieval soldier was carrying a carefully engraved sabre, there's museum swords and then there's actual swords for battle. kind of bad from people who criticize moders and game designers not to know something before posting nonsense. When everything else fails, wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabre, sabres are not a medieval thing. When everything else fails, wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabre, sabres are not a medieval thing. and what do it say at origins?.Sabre-like curved backswords have been in use in Europe since the early medieval period (some early examples include the falchion and the Byzantine paramērion). The oldest well-documented "sabres" are those found in 9th and 10th century graves of Magyars (Hungarians) who entered the Carpathian Basin at this time.[1] These oldest sabres had a slight curve, short, down-turned quillons, the grip facing the opposite direction to the blade and a sharp point with the top third of the reverse edge sharpened.[2] Edited November 24, 2015 by Wouter445
Boombro
Then why didn't you showed these first? And what the point of them, Skyrim is new to craved swords. "You see those warriors from Hammerfell? They've got curved swords. Curved. Swords." You will prove your point better with straight swords, maces, axes and their two handed versions.
