Haha, nevermind my last comment. I just had too many shaders in the folder. Great mod. It has made the game soooooo much better for me. :)

Oblivion Graphics Extender v2

This is a continuation of Timeslip's work on the original OBGE and will allow the user to improve Oblivion's graphical engine.

This topic is for endorsements of this file.

WOW!! I don't know what the deal is with these shaders but they have liberated my win-7 system and my oblivion game. I had been running on medium graphics with the stock shaders and it seemed to max out my computer. I couldn't even run the specular distances with my game and the Mehrunes Razor DLC kept crashing because of it.

When I loaded up this mod and the shaders and selected the ones I thought my system could handle...it ran SOOO MUCH SMOOTHER and SO MUCH FASTER!! I then jacked up the resolution and tried some more of the shaders and still...NO PERFORMANCE HIT!!! (Jaw-Drop)

My game looks like what I always see on the boards here and I'm so happy. My characters look like actual humans and not some kinda cartoon version. This has made my game more real and I thank you for bringing me up to speed. I had the hardware but I guess that the stock shaders are crap.

You ROCK!!!

Fantastic! Beautiful effects that are also modular. Opens new doors.

This mod runs great too it has little to no performance impact on my machine. The only instance where the frame rate dropped was in areas where the frame rate is really high like it went from 350+ to 250+ FPS. So it did not impact the minimum frame rate.

Note your game will appear to be frozen for about 10-15 seconds upon loading a save. Do not panic the shaders are loading during this pause just wait a bit all is well.

This is beautiful stuff. I'm having fun playing around with different combinations. This is a fantastic tool to customize the look of the game and add replayability. Keeps the game looking fresh, even after being released years ago! Kudos!

I wish the DoF shaders could be more friendly in third person mode - not sure if that's possible. Seems like the only thing in focus while in third person is the Player, which is too bad, because it's a brilliant effect.

Also, I had to create the shaderlist.txt file myself. It was not in the Shaders folder, not even after a start-up of Oblivion after the mod was installed and the OBGE.ini was created. The ReadMe seemed to imply that shaderlist.txt would be there already. Might be confusing. Then again, maybe I read the ReadMe wrong or maybe this is just my problem - hehe.

An essential 'mod'.
