Companions and power armor

On occasion I like to suit myself and my companion up in power armor for quests.

The problem is that upon completion of most quests, their armor is all but completely destroyed.

 

I'd like either

A) They manage to repair it themselves (Perhaps using junk in your inventory/workshop. Or better yet, their inventory, but this would be best paired with a companion auto loot mod.)

B) They actually bother to take cover and at least TRY to avoid taking damage.

C) Or if all else fails, just preventing power armor worn by companions from taking damage. I just get tired of having to repair it every 5 minutes.
