I have looked at thoughtprocesses thread a few times but it would be REALLY helpful if someone could distill all the instructions into a simple "how to" without sifting through 6 pages of comments.

Hey, great mod! I really enjoy it.
However, I recently updated and now I have some problems.
The only follower whose new armor actually shows is Merrill. For everyone else, I equip the upgrade and their appearance...stays like the default.
I'm not using any sort of retextures or anything like that, so I'm really confused.
Either way, this mod looks great, I just wish it worked in my game. ^_^

@jared1260: Oh no, six pages? You're such a martyr! Most of the relevant information is on the last page or two, and it won't even be necessary once my mod enters the beta phase.
@jakia: That's the companions' appearances overriding the equipped armor. Edit your savegame to change their appearances to the default.

Are you sure you're using an edited equipmentlayout.gda, either from Thought Process or as part of dragonagefun's mod?
The "Restriction: Hawke" is applied dynamically based on that. If the armor slots are unlocked, then the restriction should be removed automatically.

QUESTION 1: How to uninstall yours of mod that standard upgrades of the armour of the partners have returned to stock to merchant, mentioned by you in a mod? That's because you're not using a modified equipment_layout.gda as specified in the "requirements" section of the readme

The items' ids are "gen_im_cns_flu_[companion's name]_[number of the upgrade]" Upgrades are numbered 01 through 04. Of note is that Merrill's name drops the second "l," so, it's just "merril."

My armors are just chestpieces. The default companion armors are balanced to account for chest, gloves, boots, AND a helm. Also, I've leveled my armors in a 5/10/15/20+ pattern, so that first item is only level 5. I'm considering changing it to 10/15/20/25+ because I'm finding that characters are generally far beyond whatever level the armors are when they have an opportunity to acquire them.

so far I really like this but I'm having a problem with verik. he mostly runs around in this weird yellow grided thing instead of armor. I keep having to reequip his clothes so that he wears them..but it's really annoying to keep having to do this after every single cut scene in the game. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Varric's a dwarf and dwarves are weird. If you edit your save to change his appearance to the dwarf default, his appearance should set itself correctly so you don't need to keep re-equipping him.
