Avast is probably unhappy with the fact that this launcher directly alters the content of a program file, and so reports that activity as a virus. But that is what this launcher must do in order to do its job - it sets the Large Address Aware bit within the .exe, which enables the 32-bit program to take better advantage of it 4 GB memory address space while running.

Avast is Notorious for false positives. I use Norton 360 and I get no virus warning.

I give this my endorsement also, it works very well. I am disappointed that I cannot just edit the PE header and set the the large address aware flag plus fix the checksum like I can with Fallout 3 and Skyrim. Steam will puke an error if you do that... so this loader solves the problem.

 

However it doesn't exit properly in Windows 7 enterprise 64 bit. I have to kill the process by hand every time.
