Yes! Exactly one of the things missing from this game. I live in Florida and when a hurricane rolls through and knocks out the power for the tri-county area, the night sky looks exactly like this, simply because the city lights no longer obscure the stars. Would make sense this is more prevalent in a game where there are no city lights at all.

I tried it out and it worked great! Night looks awesome, especially when I turned down the brightness in the settings.

Very nice. It always seemed strange to me that a game set on our own very familiar planet would have an utterly unfamiliar night sky where all the stars had the same luminosity and no constellations could be spotted. Good work on fixing that!
