Are you sure you aren't using OBMM to archive invalidate the BSA's? because that can make it so you can't uninstall. You might have to delete every file, delete all registy instances of oblivion, and then reinstall.

Huh? Why wouldn't you be able to uninstall? Simply click "Remove BSA edits"....not very difficult.

Of course, now it also has the BSA Redirection method, which is 10x better and never touches the default BSA's.

hi gothic251,

seems like you packed together a good collection, just what i need. i'm already using darkui v2.40 with the included "darn-ified configs as of 22.06.2006", so it's quite old stuff. the dark ui loading screens are in my setup too.

so just to get things right, if i switch to your collection, i get dark ui (v2.40, http://www.tessource...le.php?id=1962) with the most recent darnified configs (v1.1, http://www.tessource...e.php?id=10763) blended together with your magic tweaks and fixes.

but is there any advantage for a "dark ui v2.40 with included darn-ified configs" user like me?

- are greybird/darkbirdys included darn-ified configs bad, incomplete or buggy?
- did darn any major changes to v1.1 compared to the darn-ified configs included in dark ui v2.40?
- are your modifications so special and useful, that its simply the best combination of dark ui and darn's configs possible?

if 1 of these 3 questions can be answered with "yes, because..." i will download your mod, apply it carefully and rate it a big 10 if all is working nicely. thanks in advance for your time gothic251 ;)

As far as I can tell, this is to just make it easier for the novice end-user. There doesn't seem to be a difference between this and installing the Dark UI with Darn configs manually.

Belinda, I can honestly answer yes to all three questions.

1. Darkbirdy's UI is amazing, but like all (including me) he made SMALL mistakes. I have changed these. The encumberance issue I talked about in the readme, and also I have fixed a few of his colors that were off (like in the repair menu, the players gold showed up as yellow, not the usual yellow/tan)

2. Oh yes, extensive changes. Mainly cosmetic, but also many bugfixes.

Look at the bugfixes near bottom of first post

And those are just the bugfixes for 1.1, for the complete rerelease of 1.0, he dynamically made everything easier to modify, bugfixed, and aesthetically made everything better.

3. Oh, my modification is special, if not magical. :P Yes, there are some minor bugs and things I have personnaly fixed, like it says in the revision history, I have fixed some bugs that have been bothering me since I started using DarkUI (The inventory bar issue), and i really worked to make this UI perfect (still am working). Also my mod is an all in one package of many mods that it took me months to figure out existed.

"This package includes the whole of Darn's UI version 1.1, and all of DarkUI version 2.40. It also contains Darkbirdy's DarkUI Loading Screens, and the Shivering Isles DarkUI Loading Screens by HTF. It also includes a DarkUI-ified Menu Loading Screen and Map-Scroll Video by Fritzdog. This also fixes tiling issues with the textures in the map and inventory screens, as thanks to the amazing work of Brumbek."

There are some minor issues with Brumbek's texture fixes, but he's fixing them as we speak, and another bugfix release will come as soon as my computer is sent to me.

Thanks,
Dylan

Oh, and Offkorn, if you're foolish (like I was) and don't know that BSA edits can make it so you can't uninstall, and you don't know that you can remove those BSA edits with the push of a button, than it can cause you problems, like it did for me.

the darn configs in the dark ui v2.40 package (released 2006/06/22) are from 2006/06/22 (as stated in the dark ui readme). darn released darnified ui v1.0 on tessource 2007/05/05 and updated to v1.1 on 2007/05/27. even if darn haven't made any changes to his configs since mid 2006 and released them as v1.0 on 2007/05/05, at least the changes to v1.1 should be new compared to the state included in dark ui v2.40.

and not to forget the tweaks, bugfixes and colorchanges done by gothic251 could be worth upgrading from the dark ui v2.40 configs, but it's a bit unclear what has been changed.

it was a bit of a hassle to get dark ui v2.40 + included darn configs running smooth and bugfree on my setup when it was released, so i'm just curious if it's worth upgrading for me :)

Um...I've used BSA edits for monthes and the Remove all BSA edits works perfectly fine. How can you not know you can remove the edits when the button is sitting right there directly in your face?

It's actually quite detailed in the OBMM help files. Hell, it's mentioned numerous times that you have to remove the BSA edits in order to patch the game.

Of course, with BSA Redirection now as an option, BSA editing is no longer needed.

Belinda, my version is very simple to install, just drag and drop, no configuring neccessary (although if you still have darkui+darnui installed, delete the menus folder in obliviondaa first so as to forego any problems that could arise. Once the menus folder is gone, just drag and drop, my friend.

Honestly, all I'm going to be releasing in the next version is a possible bugfix or two (if any even come up) and if he ever gets them to me, Brumbek's revised textures. Nothing is seriously broken, simply some mild aesthetics problems you won't even notice till you look for them. I would just install it now, so that if you so have any problems, you can tell me and I can look into them for the next version.
Thanks for your support,
Dylan

damn, it's not working for me.

- removed all the files from dark ui + darn config + dark ui loading screens
- copied everything except the video folder from DarkUI'd Darn v1.1.1 to obliviondata dir
- made font changes to oblivion.ini
- deactivated vanilla bookjackets.esp in wrye bash
- activated DarNified Books for Bookjackets.esp in wrye bash
- made obmm archive invalidation to make sure all the new or changed textures get used

got very heavy gfx errors, check these pics for details:
http://www.tessource...5-TESSource.jpg
http://www.tessource...5-TESSource.jpg
http://www.tessource...8-TESSource.jpg

i backed up the whole oblivion folder before this, so i could easily step back to the old working setup. i guess there are some strange leftovers from the previous darkui + darn config installation which interfere somehow with the new version. very sad, through all the gfx disortion i saw some nice modifications (e.g. darkui'd and darnified ESC menu, its vanilla in my working setup). but not worth reinstalling the whole game.

any further help will be highly appreciated gothic251, but i guess you don't have enough information to help me in a resonable amount of time and effort. but if i ever buy a new gfx card and want a fresh install, your mod will definitely come in handy, so thx a lot anyway for the mod and support.
