Belinda, you are not alone. You are now the THIRD person reported to have these problems. Can you test something for me? can you please delete all textures included with my mod, download Darkbirdys DarkUI 2.40 and use all of his textures and get back to me if that works? I'm trying desperately to get this problem sorted out, and not having my own damn computer isn't helping me.

OK, a man by the name of brianmac may have found the solution. Try turning your texture size in the video options menu to large. He had the same problem, and it went away when he turned his texture size to large. If this is the problem, I'll tell brumbek to fix his custom textures accordingly.
Hope this works belinda, so that you can enjoy DarkUI'd Darn

hi dylan,
brianmac should call himself brainmac, his "upping to large textures" solution works fine. but since i have a 128mb radeon 9800pro it's no usable solution for me. damn, these textures look crisp and nice in the large resolution, but after running around texturemem is raising to nearly 300mb and kills my machine. i hope brumbek is willing to help us low-enders.
i have three little suggestions for your mod. first, the dark faction rank font is way to dark if you ask me. i can barely read it on the darkbrown menu ground (http://www.tessource...9-TESSource.jpg).
second, the main menu font is very dark when playing without the menu videos. there was a workaround in the vanilla dark ui v2.40 package (Light Menu Text), maybe you can adapt it and pack it into your mod (http://www.tessource...8-TESSource.jpg).
third, the map background is still too bright for my sensitive eyes. i know it can't be made really dark because the map layer is drawn ontop this texture. but maybe you can deliver two or three even darker alternatives in a separate folder to choose from (http://www.tessource...9-TESSource.jpg).
from what i have seen so far, you've done a great job in combining dark ui and darnified ui to the perfect darnified-dark-ui experience. thanks a lot + 10/10 from me, and keep up the good work.

hi dylan,
i did some testing with darker map backgrounds and made a modified version of the mappaper01.dds in your mod. the brightness and contrast is reduced at 30% (paint.net v3.08 + dds filetype plugin v1.10, stored as dxt1). this is the version i will keep, much better for my eyes. some little glitches are visible, the indoor map brightens up a bit around the drawn map lines. but nothing serious if you ask me. check for yourself if your interested, and of course anybody can use it without restrictions.

i uploaded it to a file hoster, don't know how long this is alive there.

hi dylan,
i took a deep look into the problem and fixed the textures for you so ppl with texture size set to medium (like me) can use your wonderful mod. these fixed textures are the optimized ones out of the darkui'd darn v1.1.1 package, not the older ones from the dark ui v2.40 package, because we only deserve the best of the best. please update your package with these textures dylan, so all new downloaders get the working files.
- install darkui'd darn v1.1.1 like stated in the readme
- download my fixed textures from http://www.mediafire.com/?8g1ryibuuwg (hope it lives long enough there)
- extract fixed_textures.rar to your oblivion data directory, overwrite all files
- apply your favourite archiveinvalidation method just to make sure all the textures get used
i included my darkened map background texture as default (~30% darker than the vanilla dark ui version). if you wan't the dark ui default version:
- goto obliviondatatexturesmenusmaplocal
- delete mappaper01.dds
- rename mappaper01_vanilla.dds to mappaper01.dds
i recommend at least trying my version if you play in a dark room, helps a lot against those flashy map peaks in dungeons

Wow, Belinda.
Thats seriously all I can say. Wow. You are the single most amazing person I've ever met.
I will be immediately downloading the files and incorporating them into my mod.
I am currently getting Oblivion on my dads computer, so i will fix the other issues you had (faction one, honestly don't know how I missed that. And the main font one, yes, somebody already asked for that, and I apologize I didn't do it for the first release.)
Thank you SOOOOOO much. I am indefinitely in your debt. I will be testing these as soon as i get oblivion on my dads computer, and will be releasing a fixed version sometime tomorrow.
Thank you,
Dylan

i have a minor problem...
everything works fine and everything. except when i scroll over the names of items with effects (megical effects, ingredient effects, etc.), half of the icon for the effect is cut off. basically, the popup window that comes up when you put your cursor on top of an item isn't "always on top" and sits behind the main inventory window, thus cutting off about 1cm or so.
is it just me?
