Well, Dragon Age 2 has been around for a small while now, and I know I am not the only person who has the love-hate relationship with the game. I loved parts of it, hated other parts of it. Anyway, what DLC's would you like to see in the game?

I, for one, would love miniature addons where we could....:

1) Show our battle at Ostagar, here rumors of the new grey warden recruit, meet Alistair when he was younger - meet Duncan (and his manly beard ), and then have us in the battle/fleeing to get to lothering. It could be trigured by a conversation with the players brother/sister and so on.

2) We worked for one year in servitude? Well, I would like it if we could play through that one year of servitude - I mean, I know there are two different people who get us into the city, but come on - what is the actual difference? I don't see one - we still meet the same people, the story is the same. So I really think who we chose to get us into the city could be played on more.

3) Sten. Come on, how can they do a game with Qunari and not include our cookie-loving friend from the origin? Of all the people I expected to appear in DAII it was dear ol' Sten. But no, we get Zevran (not that I am complaing.... well, apart from his looks) and Alistair.

Well, thats it for now, I will probably add more later - but please, do share your ideas.
[Note: Sorry if I am rambling.... only have 2 hours of sleep does that to you].

I like all three of those Ideas, I would have liked to of played through the first year in servitude that would have been quite fun.

To be completely honest though, I don't think any DLC would make the game much better for me, I played through the game ONCE.. Yep, then I uninstalled it and have never played it again.

Hmm.... to some extent I agree with you - mostly due to:
1) The lack of choices - I can play the origins as many times over and it wont get boring because it had loads of choices.
2) No toolset (as of yet) - means we cant add great mods to liven up the game and/or fix the crap parts Bioware done.
3) The caves.... oh dear lord the caves! Seriously, I just found a new cave I had never been in before - but it was DLC content -shakes head-
4) Lack of relationships with companions - to some extent, with the companion quests, it was better than the origins - but not being able to speak with them? Not being able to give our LI a kiss or two throughout our playthroughs? In general have a chat with our companions? Not cool Bioware, not cool.

I am on my fourth playthrough at the moment

Anywho, back to the DLC topic

This is one of the things that truly annoyed me about DA2. The total shoehorning of DAO characters into the game. Seriously? I mean it's bad enough that 3 of your companions happen to have appeared in the first game (and all partied with the Hero of Ferelden might I add), but then Flemeth, Lelianna, Zevran, Alistar, Dalish camp, Sandal etc. just happen to all show up?

I can forgive Flemeth's appearance because she's just so cool and fits her character's story. Seeing all these other characters show up made the DA universe shrink, one cameo at a time. Plus, the fact Leliana lived in Lothering for two years and never bumped into Hawke, but NOW they meet, of all places? Dumb.

What's wrong with coming up with something new? Did we really need all these DA:O characters in the game to make it "feel" like a Dragon Age game? I'm not trying to trash your idea. I'm just trying to illustrate that these characters are just irrelevant to the DA2 story as a whole. They just put them in the game just to have them there.

So, if seeing Sten again is going to make this game even better for you ... I say go for it. Might as well get Shale, Wynne, Oghren and Morrigan in the mix. While we're at it, maybe have a quest where your Mabari has to rescue the 'Hero of Ferelden's" Mabari from Darkspawn and you find out they were from the same litter! Better yet, I bet they could figure out how to make a Teyrn Loghain "back from the dead", cameo work. Sort of like how Sophia Dryden shows up in Act 1. =P

Based on your DA:O savegame, you could have a pregnant Morrigan (or even Morrigan with child) turn up and start cooking for you using some of those 15 herbs she collected form the Korcari Wilds which can be used to make poisons...not that they are related to cooking... ;)

No, no I completely agree with the fact they did re-use characters - I was mostly shocked to see Anders, as as far as I was concenred at the end of Awakening - he died lol. But what I was getting at is it is a sequel in which is mainly about Qunari, and they don't even bring sten back - the QUNARI companion ins DA:O? But yea, I did feel a bit weird with all of the companions showing up - I dont even really get the reason King Alistair showed up (I mean, seriously - he said my Warden was in the back room somewhere...).

I know what you meant. The game had this whole Qunari uprising subplot and Sten could be a perfect addition. But really, would having Sten show up as DLC change anything? I mean, DA2's story is so fragmented because of the "Acts" that it wouldn't matter if he were there to help or just be idle in the background. The fact remains, Viscount Marlowe Dumar's head is going to roll. So even if Sten were there to help ease tensions and things work out, the Viscount would still have to die because Act 3 demands it.

The only other reason to have Sten or any other character from Origins as DLC, would be as I stated before, just to have it. Unless that is, they make DLC akin to Leliana's Song, but there again Sten has nothing to do with DA2 so it wouldn't make any sense.

Yeah, good point xD
When I killed one of the Qunari named 'Sten' I was like "Oh my god, I jsut killed my cookie loving friend!" then went into another area and he was back again - it took me my second playthrough to realise/remmember that Sten was a rank among Qunari xD

But the other two ones I suggested weren't too bad ideas, were they?

I actually think Sten could fit in with the story, In chapter 2 (I think) the "Hero of Fereldan" has done his/her bit and Sten says he'll go back to Par'vollen (is that the name?)
so instead of going back, he gets a ship with the Arishok which later crashes & then you can meet him in the Qunari camp, He'll then tell you how he respects Hawke because he see's a certain strength in him/her, The same strength that made him respect the Hero of Fereldan, but he can't just leave his clan, Unless... the Arishok is DEAD :)
Sten will later join you, and tell you all about the H.o.F based upon what choices you made, etc etc

That was extremely hard to put into words, so I really hope it makes sense.
