There is a friend " ianken "in the nexus site that
made this www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php
he and i and i try to edit the range off the staff to become the reach of a sword attack ,and so the staff does not attack from afar only in close combat like a sword while retaining all their animations

ahh I forgot and make this modification affects only hawke if possible

any idea about it is welcome

here's the description and some videos

watch previews here:

My first mod - Short Ranged Basic Staff Attack

Im
trying to modify an Arcane/Warrior weapon without losing the spells
animation, which happens when you equip weapons other than a staff.
Also, I don't like model swapping staff with sword because it makes the
basic attacks EXTREMELY ranged.

This mod is a product of a
scientific method known to men even before the word science was created:
trial and error. I'm not Neo:p

Details:
By default, basic
staff attacks have 2 types, the CLOSE range and the EXTREME range. I
just edited *with GFF v4.0 editor* some of the values (from
abi_base.gda) that i think corresponds to staff basic attack range. So
if someone can or has figured out how these values specifically work
please tell me.
I can't bring ALL the attacks as close as melee
weapons do, so attacks mostly occur from close to short range (about
twice the length of the staff). Or even longer when enemies move away
from you. Moreover, sometimes it does show dashing-strikes when closing
in.
I also removed the elemental bolts spitting out each attack, I
don't know yet if it has adverse effects other than lack of animation.
However, I did not change the 5th attack from the chain of basic attacks because its too cool to be changed.

WARNING: May change enemy mage behavior too :(
COMPATIBILITY: All except those that change the staff basic attacks.
Extract .GDA file to: X:\----\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age 2\packages\core\override

this is the ian's mod

all the credit for the idea and the mod is his own
I said it would seek help here with you guys
