According to Vista my NVGECK Zip file is 5584kb after download and I tried the direct link using both IE and Firefox, worked both times.

If the file size is indeed showing 0 in Windows, maybe just try downloading it again? And if that fails, perhaps try going through the Bethsoft downloads/EULA pages first, starting here:

http://fallout.beths...nloads/geck.php

(I never had a problem bypassing and going directly to the download, but strange things happen.)

Lastly, if the file size looks correct, do you have an up-to-date uncompression program? I'm using the latest 7-ZIP for Vista/64-bit and it works A.OK.

Boy this is really weird. I checked that same site last night and they had the old GECK up 1.1 I down loaded installed and tested to make sure there was not some kind of error in naming the file etc and it was definitely the old GECK and would not work. Today with your link I checked it and it is the updated 1.3 GECK. I am using windows 7 and all shows good after downloading the file with your link. Further checking shows that if you use Google the official Bethesda Google search link takes you to the Bethesda GECK pages but the GECK zip with that link is the old 1.1. Apparently there are currently two active official Bethesda GECK pages one that still has the old GECK and another that has the new GECK.

That is wierd because I also checked the original link given when this thread started and I got 1.3, but who am I to accuse Bethsoft of having glitches? :) Important thing is though, persistence paid off and you got it going.

The direct link worked, but I saw some strange GECK download links form the Bethseda site. Clicked twice in a row and got two seperate downloads. Weird.

But I have dowloaded it month ago and it worked fine.
You said that the new GECK was up today.
How is it possible?

Answered my problems without even having to start a new topic.
I downloaded the FN:NV Geck from the link aforementioned this morning and it gave me 1.1, just did it again and it gave me 1.3.

Just wanted to say I appreciate the direct link, I recently added the Honest Hearts DLC and it broke my GECK, I looked in my steam account and on the Fallout site but could't find the new version, so Thanks again all seems to be working properly now :)

I'm lost. I downloaded the 1.3 patch but my Master Files and Plugin Files still wont load. Did I do something wrong? I put the 1.3 files into my New Vegas folder and ran the GECK with administrative rights but still when i go to load, nothing.

that's because geck v1.3 is outdated, search for Geck v1.4 on the forums... or on google. :)

The problem is the FalloutNV.esm, the updated version doesn't work with the geck, the original one still does, so you might need to have two copies of the FalloutNV.esm (1 orginal from installation and 1 updated with patch) and move them around from a backup folder that you make yourself and the data folder as need to play or mod.
