SPOILER ALERT

I just got past the part where the fiend reveals itself and you confront Pellew. The first time I did this part I accidentally fused with the monster and I fought Pellew and the hunter after they killed Allecia. The second time I escaped the fiend and negotiated with Pellew after they killed Allecia. The third time I escaped the fiend and negotiated with Pellew while Allecia was still alive. Prior to this whole incident I found Allecia to be a kind of burden on my shoulders and I was much more interested in the ruins of Armindale and the few flashbacks of Cleon's story. In fact, I was about ready to leave her dead. But now after the resolution of the conflict with Pellew and Allecia, I openned up to the character a bit more.

What was it, though? Hm... when I kept her alive after the third attempt I was just doing so for the sake of getting the good ending but then when she spoke to me something changed. Maybe seeing such a strong emotional reaction from Allecia after I saved her made me glad I did? I could have just been feeling a reward that isn't a shiny sword or my pockets lined with cash. I guess the dialogue I exchanged with the character finally mean't something for the first time since I'd been traveling with her. Maybe that's what it is. The relationship with the character needed something to give it meaning... other than just having the character as a companion and playing drama music every now and then. After all, that drama music only means something if the player allows it to have meaning. Ever read a fortune cookie and pass it off as "stupid nonsense"? Ever read a fortune cookie and nod your head in approval of what it says? It's you who gives the fortune meaning, not the fortune or the cookie.

And I guess role-players give the virtual 3D world around them meaning as well...

Right, well I still have more to this mod than what happened in that room. I still have to embark on "The Butcher of Armindale" and learn a bit about Cleon, and interestingly enough, see how he interacts with Allecia. I'm only half-way through this :D

If you fail the "Redemption" quest and are captured by the fiends (robed dremora), all four of them will follow you back to Cyrodil and follow you around forever, each one unable to die. Most of the time if there's a fight they'll stand around and watch but sometimes at least one of them joins in on the battle. It's ever better than the staff of the everscamp! Combine both for maximum fun!

Having these guys around actually makes me appreciate the ability to summon Cleon, Ruin, and Allecia. This way if they get stuck behind and I get myself into a pretty hairy situation I can just teliport them in to my location.

Well this is annoying. The game crashes every time I get to the Armindale arena where I fight the beast. When I ready up and I'm teleported before the gate, that's when it crashes. This is annoying because it looked awesome. It's also too bad that the music stops every time you enter a dialogue sequence because it breaks the immersion.

Can someone help me please.. ? I've already found Ruined-Tail... what will I do next to continue the quest? In the quest journal, it says that I need to unravel his mystery...

While running a full load 240+ mods in WryeBash 304.3 TOTF Tears of the Fiend caused CTD s every-time an exterior area was loaded in transition from another exterior area. Removed it and thank the programming gods PROBLEM SOLVED. Shame though this sounds like such an amazing set of quests and game enhancements. I was really looking forward to it... sad face...

I just thought of something BIG thanks to an episode of Extra Credits

SPOILERS

Just for the sake of not saying "he/she" a million times, the double will be referred to as a female since my character is female.

There was a part of this mod where you find out the soul you replaced never got to experience life and was forced to live in the abyss of faithlessness forever. This character looks exactly like you do but is dressed like a prisoner and you can't help but to feel bad. Eventually you have a quest to go back and save the double but by trying to do so, you put her in danger and she tragically sacrifices herself simply because of a belief that it was the right thing to do, even despite never having gotten the chance to see the skies of tamriel. While you can't help her, you can at least help everyone else. Spend some time thinking about this and you can't help but call it a noble sacrifice.

This was an effective bit of drama. HOWEVER, while designing a video game, we are given the opportunity to do more than just tell a story - we can allow the player to LIVE within that story and make choices and realize the consequences of their actions. That said, the quest was a very linear turn of events and could have incorporated a choice. What if for instance, the player was able to bring back the double safely but it was a choice between this and saving a larger group of people? Suddenly the player would have to stop and ponder a moral dilema or kick themselves in the ass later for deciding too quickly. If the player chooses to save the double, that's taking away her own right to choose and taking away the freedom of everyone else that you could have saved and shines your own personal greed. Or you can WILLINGLY accept the noble sacrifice that your double makes and save everyone else.

Or better yet, another part of the game could incorporate a moral choice with no right answer like the example from Mass Effect 2 highlighted in the episode of Extra Credits. Anyway, this is how that part of the quest could have been improved and made better ten-fold.

This mod is very enjoyable, and the way it explores the player's history makes for a very unique plot. Allecia and Cleon are great characters, and the ending conflict between them is fun. Getting the perfect ending is not difficult, but it still requires care and observation. There are a few somewhat annoying things: getting to Ruined-Tail is difficult, especially if you don't have great acrobatics, and there is a door in the ruined arena that is very picky about where you're standing to open it.
Also, I am guessing you were planning on adding Ruined-Tail's Tale to this, considering how you can find him in the end and the dialogue is nearly identical to the opening of that mod. I would enjoy seeing that happen, should that be the case.
