I'm posting this in this old thread just for anyone who comes across this like i did with a Google search.

I found from using the listed mods above that it was Lings that caused the Nashs, Easy Pete and all children to have the red exclamation point.

I had been using Lings for another mod but when i uninstalled that and left Lings behind this began to happen. Don't ask me why though, I'm just writing this so that you have a point of reference to start your own investigations with should you come across this thread.
