When you loot armours from dead bodies I find it disturbing to see these dead bodies naked.

Last but not least, someone brought up the question of kids and I've read enough disturbing comments when it comes to kids in these games to be concerned about that issue.

I have nothing against sexy outfits and stuff. People should be able to make their characters wear whatever strike their fancy but there is a huge difference between having modded nudity and having it by default.

Of course having fur bras that look like they're from One Million Years B.C. doesn't really help... I find that the default underwear in Skyrim is not that bad compared to the fur bras in DAO.

You just made a point I wanted to expand further on: nude bodies or not, there is one thing Bethesda (and other game developers) need to pay some actual attention to, the base underwear. Yeah, it's great they want to give everyone the same underwear models for consistency and saving time on their end, but for the love of all things holy and unholy, pay attention to the clothing you put in the base game too! What I mean by that, some armors ingame (not just Skyrim) are more revealing than the underwear those characters will be wearing should you happen to kill/strip them or otherwise get them out of their clothing. It was really bad in the Fallout games with the Raider armors, and a very plainly visible example in Skyrim is Aela the Huntress, who is almost wearing less armor than she is underwear - and that underwear cannot be seen while she is in her armor, but will be clearly visible should you get her out of it. What, did the player decide to kill whatever NPCs they come across, loot them of their armor, then out of sheer decency carry some extra undies around to cover up those poor naked bodies should someone else come across them? :wallbash:

It would be interesting if they actually treated it in a mature way. For example, if guards tried to arrest you for public indecency, certain NPCs try to proposition you or have kids run away covering their eyes. Further still, I'd like NPCs to react to the clothing you wear - it would be cool if queens and kings only took you seriously if you wore jewels and fine clothing but would treat you like a peasant if you wore bloodstained armor or cheap clothes giving you a reason to keep different outfits.

Well try having your character running around in his underwear. You'll get some funny comments.

This forum is not the market representative ;)

For oblivion they did a sex mod with virtual intercourse.

I dont think that its somehow a bad thing to have nudity in games. It just doesnt matter at all.
Yet i think wanting that explicitly is strange somehow. Especially when it goes that far. You dont want Skyrim combined with that ( XD imagine telling your girlfriend she should lay aside a bit more so you can see the monitor and play). You dont need a game for that. You dont want a game for that.

Do you? Then maybe you`d rather be going out instead and meeting real people in the realm called "life" - the speechcraft skill loses its powers once you leave Nirn, be prepared for that ;)

The importance of sex is overestimated btw. I have much more important things to do. Armoring still has to be trained ;D

While I can see where your statement is coming from (jokes/sarcasm included), different people want different things from their hobbies and entertainment time/games. If someone enjoys having a harem of Argonian futanari with H cups, more power to them, it is nothing I would be interested in and I don't really have any right to tell them otherwise since it is purely in a virtual capacity anyways.

That said...

You obviously don't live in a stinkhole of a town like I do. I am originally from much bigger-city parts of the country and moved out here several years ago to the armpit of this state for various reasons (none to do with the social appeal of this region). My best buddy here put it plainly and correctly: "you can get all the play you want here, you just have to have zero standards." There are no 10s here (hell there are barely any 5s) but it would take little effort to get five 2s, to paraphrase George Carlin. So I withhold judgment on anyone getting whatever kind of enjoyment out of their pixels. :psyduck:

While, personally, I wouldn't mind having nudity in a game like Skyrim built-in, I'm quite glad it isn't.
The reason for this is because the society at large does not share my morals. When it comes to morality, society has found it safer to take the "pander to the least common denominator" approach, which is fine by me. (It's fine by me because some people say they are offended by it, and even though I don't agree that they should be offended, I still respect their freedom to be offended in this case ONLY because it doesn't hurt anyone in light of other facts.)
If Bethesda released nudity in Skyrim, it would mean several things:
1. They would have a greater rating hurdle. (kids couldn't buy it easily.)
2. The game would be viewed as something other than simply an open-ended RPG sandbox game - it would be pornography. (Which, I think, most people are getting a bit sick of having shoved in their face at every opportunity. Don't get me wrong, pornography is great when it is pornography, and you know its pornography. You can buy a porn magazine, a DVD, or watch videos on the internet and you know what the content is and that's what you were looking for and everyone's happy - but I for one feel as though my intelligence is insulted a little bit every time I see a commercial for a car or some product from the store where they use sex to sell it. Really? I'm gonna buy your car because the oversexed blonde in the wet t-shirt sat on one for the commercial? Show me the engine, show me the features, if I'm craving debauchery I'll go get the stuff I LIKE. Crap like that is the reason people HATE commercials - and I feel confident assuming that the vast majority of gamers would feel a similar hate towards video games if they went that route. Sorry for the rant.)
3. It would take longer for the game to be released. (I think I can speak for most men at least in saying that if a game (or movie or whatever for that matter) is obviously attempting to appeal to my basest of interests then I am almost obligated to judge the "products" being offered. In the case of -=Skyrim: Nude Beach Party=- I would definately scrutinize the aesthetic form of the digital women. Which leads me to the next point. . .)
4. Sexy is NOT EQUAL to sexy. One persons Idea of sexy will simply not gel with anothers. Women might like sexier male models in the games, some might prefer full nudity while others may not. Some men might prefer ALL the women in skyrim AND the men to be nude under their armors, or some may prefer only the women. Some people might even be bothered (me) by the fact that some characters (peasants, bandits, etc) are half naked by default and the nudity patch would just make the game often seem like a B rated late night cable skinflick. Screw that. Also, in the previous games, nude mods made peasants nude - Ok they're peasants they don't have clothes, I can buy that, but theyre WAY too clean and they often make no sense as beggars (Prostitutes in a very morally liberal city, maybe, but if even a beggar is naked they had better be covered in mud (or poop) and half crazy.)
So in the end, I think Bethesda has made the right choice. Peoples personal tastes and preferences on things like this would make for a very ambitious feature to develop, hurt them financially, hurt us temporally (making us wait for awesomeness) and is something MUCH better left to the mod community.

My personal preference? Nudity, but not at the cost of immersion. I have not used the nude patches that are out yet because I know they will obliterate the "suspension of disbelief" and immersion in the game for reasons previously mentioned. The best solution I can imagine is to have nudity under *all* the characters - right underneath the default (removable) underwear AND multiple appropriate meshes and skins (Clean, Dirty, Scarred, Dismembered, Young (no children, ****ers), Old, saggy, horrible (hagravens), etc) and only if they can somehow be assigned to appropriate characters. (I don't want to see shiny young clean peasants (unless they just emerged from a river) and I dont think nobles and such should be dirty (unless recently fighting or something.) Also, default naked people should be kept to a minimum, except maybe the occasional drunken nord or sociopathic "doomsday" ranter.)

Mods are one thing, but having it standard? Seriously? Are people really argueing for this? The censor systems in place would bring everything they have to bear, the media would be in an uproar, and we have enough problem with bible thumpers who claim that these games promote 'satanism' and 'corrupt the youth'.

Once the game it out and mods are available, you can do whatever you want without the need to go through censors. Bethesda doesn't have that luxury when releasing the game. Remember the s*** storm when you saw the side of a breast in Mass Effect? That bogs things down and negativly impacts the game and the community.

I have no bleeding clue how God of War has made it through as many times as it has, without many issues, but their a rairity. There was outcry in Fable when they introduced condoms for craps sake. This type of thing is more headache than any of us need, and definately more than Bethesda needs.

There's nudity in the Witcher and I don't remember any tabloid witch hunts, pun intended.
For me the simple question is immersion. Some characters should be naked. Some shouldn't. People should ABSOLUTELY not sleep in the clothes they wore all day., that well annoys me.

Nudity is not necessarily sexy.
I don't know about America, but in England, say a sex education show, or a Breast cancer segment in a hospital show can display female nipples before water shed, like 7:30pm. Sex and such shenanigans are WAY too much of a current sales and moral hurdle for a game as massive as Skyrim to surmount, but nudity, the simple human body shouldn't be.
