I think it's not entirely impossible for Mankar Camoran to be related to the Septims. As shown with Uriel Septim, they weren't particularly picky with who they slept with, so maybe along the line somebody from the Camoran line had a mother who was bedded by a Septim, thus carrying over the Septim blood.

Yes, technically the bloodline was split some time ago. The current Uriel Septim was disputed as a blood-heir to the throne.

Camoran Usurper could be Mankar Camoran. Martin said he bound himself to the Mysterium Xarxes. Maybe the book gives him a longer life?
