Ok I've been doing ED-E my love and I went to repconn HQ and got the holotape off of the Brotherhood guys. It has a password in it: "Lives to fight another day". When I go to the bunkers in the hidden valley though none of them have an option to give this password. Everything I read though says I'm supposed to be able to use this password for something. If I go into the bunker with the Brotherhood though I just get the strip->explosive collar routine.
Anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong?

You're actually not doing anything wrong. The only thing the passphrase you get from the holotape is used for is getting into the Brotherhood bunker.

Wait you're saying the bunker I go into where they take my stuff won't open without the passphrase? I thought the passphrase was supposed to be used at the intercomms?

You can get into the Brotherhood bunker by using the passphrase on the intercom, picking the lock or bringing Veronica with you. None of the other bunkers in Hidden Valley are populated or operational, that's why the passphrase only works to gain access in the Brotherhood bunker.

That doesn't make any sense then because there is no using the intercom to get in. I just open the doors then some Brotherhood soldiers walk out of the last one and tell me to strip.

In my game I have to use one the methods described above to get into the bunker. I don't know why you didn't need to use the passphrase in order to open the door, but the fact remains that the passphrase is only used in the Brotherhood bunker and nowhere else.

Pretty sure simply having the "Side Bets" quest also unlocks the bunker. I didn't use the intercom either.

If I remember correctly, if you received a faction quest to blow it up, or have a high reputation with a current faction then they will walk out without you opening the door.
I am not sure though, just noticed if you get the quest to blow it up they will walk out without you doing anything.
