no matter what i do, I can't drop the mace; always says it's a quest item (and it is - 0 weight). I've followed the quest through up to the point where he comes out to visit his wifes grave; no change. still can't drop mace.

any ideas??

here are the things i have tried:

editing the weight and quest status of the cursed mace in the editor, then removing and readding the item in game.

no luck.

progressing the quest from stage 40 (the point where you learn about his wife's grave) to the next stage also doesn't change the status of the mace.

even removed ALL plugins and tried to remove/readd item with no change.

was it with the latest patch that all quest items are automatically assigned zero weight and undroppable?

this is quite frustrating.

OK, I found this on the official forums, and it fixes the quest status of the cursed mace, allowing one to proceed if this has happened (and I wasn't the only one it happened to):

Open the console with ` or ~ and type:
setquestobject 26F98 0
Press Enter, close console. Should work then.
