Can you post a screenshot of where that weird "sharkfin" (the clipping) is orignating from. I mean.., the other end? My guess from the pic so far is that it is an issue with the weightpaint, some vertexes have likely been painted wrong. I would need to see where the weird shape is "taking root" to where those vertexes are though.

Keep in mind that I know almost nothing about 3d. But those last two pics make it look like that occurs when the Right Leg moves. Maybe a rigging or bone didnt get set right or didn't export correctly?

Then again, I know that there's been some issues with trying to get the DA2 art to work in DAO.

The clipping happen when the character is running / walking.

Then it sounds even more like a skinning issue. Each character uses a skeleton where all animations are applied to. The mesh (and it's vertices) is in turn bound to the corresponding parts of the skeleton. So for the right leg of the mesh you apply to the right leg of the skeleton, and vice versa (a bit simplified, but that's pretty much how it goes). What seems to have happened here is that some vertices have been bound to the wrong part of the skeleton (easy to do if you don't apply an animation to test it before you export it).

Here is a thread from a guy I have helped earlier who had quite severe skinning issues:

http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/392771-weird-looking-model/page__p__3231829__fromsearch__1#entry3231829.

In your situation I would to either of the following:

a) contact the author of the mod and make them aware of the issue. Should be easy as long as they know the problem exists.

b) Fix it yourself. In that case you would need to export the content of the downloaded mod with the toolset, and then export them to gmax with eshme's tools (if you only wish to fix this and not mod anything after that, you might wish to consider using the 30 days free trial of 3ds max. Then just select the "skin" modifier, go through the list of bones to spot any irregularities in the weightpaint (look at my respone in the earlier thread, might help to understand it).

Interesting. Thanks very much for the correction Amy :)

Edriano- I guess that we're in the same boat, as far as that goes. I can figure out how to open a file in the 3d programs and rotate the views, but thats about it. :(

In my case I have currently not access to the toolset so I cant extract the packed files from the mod, otherwise I already have eshmes tools and gmax installed from helping others from before

Sigh, I'm starting to wish that my vacation could end already... (no, I'm serious... I suppose I'm just never content with what I have :P)

EDIT: I don't have anything special on thursday, so I will try and make a step by step tutorial on how to fix it in gmax that day.
