I know what u mean, I'm only currently walking round with about 60k in my pocket, but gone are the days of checking every corpse, barrel, crate etc that I used to when I started out?!

Maybe money makes u lazy, I used to collect every single bit, I'll still check places but If I check something and there's 7 Gold Coins say, I don't normally bother getting it...

Suppose I should do really.

The only thing that does get on my nerves is the "Wealth beyond measure outlander" sample ;) heheh

Yea i find it does spoil it a bit.
Though since i'm on the pc i use lots of mods, the Mobile Base is especially good for taking your wealth down quickly since you have to buy keys to each room in it and to unlock the travel bits(can't travel to towns untill you've used the key to unlock that certain town, or something along that line).
The keys cost a small fortune too and there's quite a few of them(can't kill the npc to get them either, the modder made it so that if you kill him the keys aren't on his body).
Items on other mods tend to cost a small fortune too:) which makes money farming(as we call it on some online games) much more worthwhile and fun:)

I guess a way to fix the easy to get money issue is to just make everything more expessive. Or have taxes based on your wealth, or being able to purchase land, mines, homes, shops, without having to join a great house. A lot of great mods could be made from the ideas posted here. It would defiantly make the game more realistic.

speaking of richness, i made a private mod making everything cost 10X more, no more 100gold extravagant clothes, its now a grand or 2, why?, because back then only the rich wore and used the greatest stuff, in morrowind even a hobo can walk around dressed as frank sinatra.

on topic.

it can be a pickle of one, being too rich, sitting there going "what can i do with 50k and a nice sword", just ask yourself, do i even need the gold, heck, just go around bribing people to loose some, i went from 100k to 10k in minutes, or do what i did, make things more expensive.
