Anyone know how, or if the statue can be changed? It just figures my character happen to be wearing the ugliest-ass armor in their inventory to get through it. It's ugly, butt ugly.

Anyone know of a way to change it?

I think what you are looking for is called 'Update my Statue' by Quazzy.
I use it and it has worked well.

if you don't want to use a mod, and have an old save...

drop every thing that you DON"T want you statue to wear, then talk to martin (after closing the great gate)
then just pick you stuff back up...

Yes there is, you little necromancer, you. It's near the the Northeastern Gate. It only appears after you finish the Battle for Bruma quest.

Not quite true. In my latest turn at the Battle of Bruma, I had my character fight the battle in Golden Saints armor, sword and shield. The helmet, she left behind on a table in her Bruma house. When she handed the Great Sigil Stone to Martin, she did not have the helmet in her inventory. But immediately after the battle she returned to the house and picked up the helm.

Guess what the statue of Bruma was wearing when it finally appeared? I had to reload the save and re-do the battle, then held off on any costume changes until the statue finally showed up.
