Nice mod, just one itty bitty question:

How do you toggle the one tub? The claw foot. You mentioned that in the Description.

Thanks guys.

Izaran: From memory, activate it while sneaking - as if you were going to pick it up - and that will cycle through its various 'modes'.

Hello

I have a problem. When I installed your mod, I already had all the houses bought and furnished, now the sellers do not have the letter with the bathroom furniture to buy. Can you fix that somehow?

thanks

Gomstor: It's been a while, but from memory they should still sell those if you've already fully furnished the house/s - provided you've got the appropriate plugin installed, of course. Failing that, you can buy one of the placeable bathtubs and place that in the house.

Hi, Antistar!

It's good to see that you're still checking in on this thread, even though your Bathing Mod is quite old. I tried it out awhile back, and rather liked it. Now I have a new computer (well, fairly new, anyway) and a new Oblivion install, and I'm experimenting with various mods. Having recently gotten interested, again, with immersion mods I naturally decided to take a second look at yours. This time around, though, I'd like to voice a few issues, if you don't mind. I don't know if you ever plan on doing any additional work on this mod, but it would be nice if you could make it even more realistic.

First issue. I'm playing as a Khajiit, now. You are aware, aren't you, that frequent bathing totally destroys coat health in furred creatures? Khajiit characters simply aren't going to bathe every day ... or probably even every week. Doing so will result in all sorts of annoying, and possibly even health-threatening, conditions. Pet owners are well aware of this. It's vital for furred creatures to maintain the natural oils which protect their fur. Soap removes this, leaving the hair dry and brittle, and the skin dry and prone to diseases and other problems. I use mods like this for the role-playing, realism, and immersion. Your Bathing Mod breaks all this with Khajiit characters. On the flip side, most furred creatures, and I'd assume this to be the case for Khajiit, as well, do not sweat, and that's the primary reason that humans get stinky after not bathing for a couple of days. I doubt Argonians sweat, either, since sweating is not compatible with scales. As a side note, you know the greeting that you may get from a Khajiit on occasion (30 < disposition < 70) ... "It has no master?" I can well see this changed to "It has no scent?" for a Khajiit character who has just bathed. :) So, yeah ... other Khajiit will expect a Khajiit to smell like a Khajiit and not like flowery-scented soap. I would expect a disposition DROP for another Khajiit if my own Khajiit character "smelled wrongly".

Second issue. Just because you don't bathe for a week doesn't mean you'll smell badly. A lot depends upon the environment. If you're living in a hot and humid place like Blackwood, then, yes, you'd probably better bathe at least once a day if you're living in the company of other humans, elves, or orcs. If you're living in the cold Jerral Mountains you might be able to get by with once a week or even two weeks. Indeed, the whole concept of bathing is cultural, and Bruma has a strong Nord influence. In cold climates you simply don't bathe often -- at least not in a Medieval setting without the convenience of gas heaters and central air. Nords are going to be used to this and should be much more likely to overlook a little body odor. Again, the bad body odor is caused by bacteria which feed off the organic secretions in sweat. If you don't sweat much, or at all, then no bacteria and no body odor. In cold climates this is not as much of an issue as it is in hot climates.

Ferryt: Thanks - glad you like it. The Bathing Mod is a relatively simple gameplay mod though, and like most things in computer games, it's abstracted and simplified to serve gameplay. I can appreciate the appeal of immersion, but extrapolating... speculating on Khajiiti physiology and the social dynamics of Nord culture is somewhat outside the scope of this mod. ;)

I like this mod overall and continue to use it. However, I am somewhat dissapointed in that your player doesn't actually get in the tubs. I recently installed a mod called Mushroom Manor and the bath house in that mod has a beautiful copper tub and you actually get in it (got some great screenshots) and I thought, given the one screenshot in this mod showing a character in the stone tub, that they all would work the same way.

I really liked this mod.

I use "liked" because it somewhat stopped working... I have Bloody Mess functioning and it works just fine and the Tubs from this mod work to clean off the blood. But my character no longer recieves the Smelly personality effects after going days without washing. Can't explain it. I've reinstalled the mod about 3 times and nothing makes it work again.

I'm out of ideas.

jwoltz: Too many technical issues for that to be possible/practical alongside other aspects of the mod (eg: placeable bathtubs). Its implementation is similar to beds in the vanilla game, for the sake of comparison; interaction via a menu.

CujoHyer: I'm afraid I can't reproduce that on my end. Making a clean save may help (save game, deactivate plugins, load game, save it again, reactivate plugins).

This is a really great mod. I just came back to make a suggestion (which has probably already been said but that's alright).

What about adding bathrooms to Inns so that when you rent a room you can bathe there?
