I somehow picture the ghost constantly re-living the moment of his death.

But isn't that why ghosts are ghosts, and have not moved on?

...or something like that.

This is the most wonderful house mod for Oblivion! I've spent the last two hours exploring, baking, crafting, and hanging out with my new piglet pal. Sincerely one of the most interesting and immersive designs. So many things to do, and a detailed backstory to boot.
Its such a cozy house, too. I love smoking my pipe by the fire while listening to the soothing guitar drift through the house. Its too much to expect from a mod to be this much fun.

You have my endorsement and my many thanks!

@Blackrobed

After I saw your comment, my curiosity was piqued. I spent 20 minutes just switching from the tasting room to the attic. And I was not disappointed.

Hickory has a truly wonderful sense of humor. :)

Thank you, Kiaby, for your wonderful comment, and also for your compliment. ;)

Absolutely love this mod!

Not only the house is beautifully designed, but I really love the warm, lived-in feel that it gives; it really feels like home, not just a place to store gear. And speaking of sorting gear, I also liked creative "containers", such as bookshelves and racks for weapons and armor. Great job of making the house both aesthetically pleasing and practical. Oh, Truffles is so cute~! <3

I also really liked Highwood's backstory: your and Garreth's journals were interesting to read and really add to house's unique character.

Thank you for your great comment and endorsement.

I personally prefer the theory that ghosts are those who have unfinished business that prevent them from moving on, or those who are simply unwilling to let go of worldly pleasures.

But that discussion has little to do with the mod

Anyway, thank you again for your work on this mod; I hope you might return to modding sometime in the future.

'It has been reported that New Roads And Bridges Revised loading after Highwood causes incompatibilities in the landscape.' Good grief. When I read that, I expected some clipping or tearing. I didn't expect half the house to be underground and the cave with the key to be completely inaccessable, essentially breaking the mod. So yeah, utterly incompatible with Roads of Cyrodiil (which includes NRaBR). However, the house is worth it (despite the staggering FPS hits in certain spots), and I don't often use roads anyway, so unless you come out with a patch, to hell with RoC. One quick criticism, though: the plate of toast in the kitchen contains four 'silces' of toast. What's a 'silce'?

A 'silce' of toast is toast lightly buttered with Highwood's own brand 'Typo Margerine', with added olive oil.

I just took a closer look at Roads of Cyrodiil, and found a compatibility patch. Derp. Sorry about that. I'm usually much more careful about exploring all avenues before I start complaining. My clumsiness disqualifies me from any further rounds of Grammar Nazi and you may now feel free to misspell anything you wish. However, I do have a couple of questions. 1: When the guy found the lich, he said he's going to have to fight it, and mentioned maybe joining the Mages Guild to find out how. Why didn't he just hire the Guild to fight it for him and save his wife an aneurysm? 2: The mill house room, the one with the alchemy stuff and the fish, are the walls *supposed* to look like a starry void, or am I missing a texture? Because if it's supposed to be that way...wow. Just wow. You take the win. You take *all* the win.

Hi dm3588 Good that you found the patch for the roads. The author of that mod was kind enough to make one. a couple of answers, 1: Because he was a guy that did things on his own. Because he was hoping that there would be something in there that would benefit his family and he didn't want to give it up to the mages guild. Because we wrote the story and wanted it that way? Pick one. :-) 2: The Mill House is suppose to look that way. I spent a long time looking for the right background for the fish and that star field made them stand out beautifully. It also hid the architecture that would have distracted from the fish as well. Hickory and I spotted the slice typo after Highwood was released but neither of us felt it was worth making a patch for one typo. With all the typing that went into that mod one typo wasn't bad considering that I'm the world's worst typist.

Yeah, given the number of writings and item names here, only one typo is far above average. Kudos. If you ever update the mod, remember to grab it, but otherwise, no harm done.

Although I still think that was kind of a dumb move on the guy's part. I'm not criticising your storytelling ability - on the contrary, if the story wasn't good, it wouldn't be worth getting worked up over. But since it is worth it, I keep imagining him saying, 'Honey, someone summoned Cthulu in the backyard. No, silly, I'm not going to call the army, I'm going to go punch him!' :P

Wow, this is fantastic in so many ways. The amount of love that went into this house really shows! Great job and thank you so much for this wonderful house. =)
