I went on with the game but noticed when I made the mage guild quest active there was no red arrow in Anvikl Which was comoleated) but no credit was given for Chorral which I had hand also finished. I gave him the book but did not tell Elana who also wants the book. There is a green arrow with the guy at the Chorral mage guild and all he tells me is the book is in a safe place. How am I going to finish the CHORRAL MAGE QUEST. Can some one help. I have no way to go back because it is a long way and no save game. Isn't there a console command to finish this quest.

There are two stages two this quest.

1. Find the book, and give it to whatshername. (regardless of who you gave it to, if you gave it to lizard boy, steal it from his trunk, and give it to her)

2. She tells you to wait for a day (do stuff, or just press 'T'), and then she tells you that you need to have a magic stone (not Varla or soul, the other type), and that you have to cast a lighting spell on a pillar on the top of a mountain (idiot arrows will be provided).

It's a good idea to lv up before do that last bit, the spell gets better the higher lv you are.

Once that is done, kill her take the book to the lizard.

The recommendation (i.e. the Chorrol Mages guild quest) is given when you give the book to Tee-Keeus even though there is no update.

But be careful about levelling up before doing the second part. Although the power increases, so does the amount of magicka it takes to cast. This makes it impossible to cast if you do the quest at higher levels.

you don't have to kill her... you can just take the book from the chest in her room at the grey mare...

also if you don't want the spell you can just tell her (after giving the book to tekus [sp]) that you won't steal it back for her...

both ways complete the quest fully...
