So I just bought a really expensive gaming mouse (I play many games) and it is really nice, customizable, very high DPI which is toggable, but... I don't know.. It feels awkward.. My old mouse was a $15 logitech wireless travel mouse at 1500 dpi. The new ones max DPI is 5600, though I am using it at 3600. Anyone else expierience this? This awkwardness of new hardware? Will it I get used to it over time? Its a great mouse but it feels so different from my old one, and because of it my gaming is off..

Don't worry. That's normal.

I upgraded from a little Logitech mouse a while ago, and I thought that I'd never be able to get used to it. Now, however, my gaming abilities have greatly improved. No more "claw" grip for me. I now have something I can rest my entire hand on.

Just find a dpi level that works best for you. I have mine set to a range of 1500, 1700, 2000, 2200 and 2400 dpi.

Just out of curiosity, what mouse are you using? I have the Razer Mamba which also maxes out at 5600 dpi.

Its a cyborg Rat7. Looks ridiculous but it fits my hand very nicely and has very nice features. But it is drastically different form my old mouse.

I don't want it to feel like the old one, I just wanted to make sure this feeling was normal or it was a sign that the mouse isn't for me. I'm going to try and get to used to it, at least for another week, if it still bothers me after that then it goes back to best buy.

I had a Logitech Trackman (Old style that they just converted to wireless ) only to now upgrade to a Cooler Master Tactical Storm Inferno mouse. It feels slightly awkward to use, but its because I am going from huge hand rest to the smaller mobile form. I will endure like you have and learn to use!

You think you've got problems. Last week my mouse died. I ate its liver with a nice..whoops wrong thread. Anyway there was stuff I had to do, but at that time of night the only place open was the petrol station. It only had Trust Slimline mice but it had to do. Now as a mouse its fine. Responds well, sure clicking. However it's flat. As a pancake. The bottom of your hand rests on the desk and quickly develops an ache after half an hour. I know, I know get a better one. But I need to get my £2's worth first! Besides I keep forgetting.

Heavy mice feels awkward for me. I love the feel of a new mouse with new wax feet. The only mouse I couldn't adjust to was the Mac magic mouse. I bought it when it first came out, used it for 30 minutes and now it's in it's box here somewhere.

What I find most awkward is when I'm on a new keyboard with a different layout or if I'm using a laptop keyboard.

I've been using a Trust mouse for about two years, like you I keep forgetting to replace it, to be honest it's been good solid mouse that's been abused but kept on going. When my new one arrives I feel I should really have some kind of ceremony for the Trust mouse, he's been a faithful servant.
