Hah! Ensiferum. Nice reference. Well done.

Quite good for a first mod, indeed. I'll be following your work!

Thank you!

As for the Ensiferum reference, however, I must admit I just pulled that name out of my mind... No cultural reference intended hehehe... So... Who's that guy?

Also, could any user of this mod tell me if, upon picking the sword or the stone, they acquire scripted spells and effects, and which download (OBMM or 7Zip) they chose?

umm sorry for being the first one. but i have a problem with the armor. (yes i have the requirements) When i try to put them on i'll sometimes dissapear or parts of the armor (including the cape) will turn this solid pinkish purpleish color. (still in the shape of the armor) What would i need to do. I would prefer the answer step by step please. thanks

Hello!

Before we can begin working on that problem, I'll need to know:

1: Is Oblivion installed in the '' C:/Program FIles/Bethesda Softworks/Oblivion '' directory on your computer?

2: Which file did you download (7.zip or OMod)?

3: Does the sword have the same problem (pink texture or just a yellow square with a question mark)?

4: Also, are you sure that the files are installed correctly accordingly to the file paths mentionned in the mod's description? (I know that question's a millenia old, but everyone one day or another makes mistakes about that...)

That's just to narrow the possibilities a little bit.

Yes Oblivion is in the oblivion directory. i used the Omod version. The sword, orb thingy and the spells do NOT have this weird effect. And finally Vanguard program is in Computer>OS(C:)>Program Files (x86)>Bethesda Softworks>Oblivion>Data and yes i use a 64 bit computer windows 7. Now that i notice the mod doesn't have the symbol like all my other mods in that folder it looks more like a blank program document with a lock on it.

A blank program document with a lock on it? Well that's puzzling... Almost as puzzling as the fact that only the armor is affected. Since all the armor parts use distinct .nif files, they should not conflict with any armor replacer/whatever mods you could have. And since the sword and orb are unaffected, that means you got everything installed properly.

Frankly, my competence with computers is rather restricted. I don't know if the fact that all the files in my mod were created in a standard windows XP dinosaur could cause conflict, but I'd be surprised to see that you're the only uploader with a 64 bit W7 config...

I'm afraid I can't be of much help, but if I were you, I'd start with uninstalling the OMod (Using OBMM, deactivate the mod, then right-click on it and hit ''delete''). It could be possible that, during the downloading process, a mistake occurred. Try and see what happens if you re-download it and re-install it.

If the above method does not work, I suggest downloading the 7.zip file (you'll need 7-zip, of course - that's always a useful app) and creating your own OMod with it ( Unzip the file on, say, your desktop, and, Using OBMM, hit Create, then in the window, click ''Add folder''. Select the Vanguard of Oblivion/data folder in the unzipped file (be sure to have the ''data'' folder selected), then hit ''create Omod'').

Those are very ''generic'' techniques thought... I wouldn't be surprised to hear you already tried them but that's the best I can say. Frankly, besides a download error, I can't think of anything but an incompatibility between your platform and the platform on which the files were created, in which case I don't understand what the hell went wrong.

I wish you the best of luck!

Darn, I'm sorry to hear that it didn't help.

In this case, my last suggestion would be to actually use modding tools to fix the items in the mod.

I won't pretend that those few armor pieces of mine are worth that much of an effort, but it could be a nice'n'sweet introduction to the basic tools - and eventually real modding - for you, provided you are interested enough. Knowing how they work provides you with the opportunity to fix or alter any mod however you want without having to wait after incompetent modders like me... it's something to consider, I think! : )

What you would need: The Elder Scrolls Construction Set (the program that is used to edit Oblivion itself, to make sure the items in Oblivion use the proper file path to reach the .Nif File), and NifSkope, the program that is used to edit the .Nif files themselves, to fix the link between the mesh object (wireframe) and its texture.

The Elder Scrolls Construction Set can be downloaded here: http://cs.elderscrol...uction_Set_v1.2

NifSkope can be downloaded here: http://sourceforge.n...files/nifskope/

Be sure to read the Readmes carefully to install them.

From there thought, It gets too complex to be explained in a forum. There are, however, plenty of tutorials for both programs available!

Once again, I wish you the best of luck! That, or just a better luck with another mod... Hehe...
