@tnu
Perhaps. But Abraham Washington would probably want to be on staff at the Archives, to preserve
the exhibits. Useless on actual history as far as I'm concerned, though.

@tauror
Yes, the White House took several direct hits during the War (as I've pointed out before, I believe), and is currently a crater. The National Archives would be a place of knowledge and symolism, but not much else.

@tnu & Frosty742
I did not consider partial integration; I don't think that the defense-minded folks on the Council could swallow that. And in any event, I would prefer out-and-out annexation to sort-of semi-autonomous units. The only way to generate 1 Esprit de Corps out of 2 is to completely integrate the units. Spreading the BOS personnel around also reduces the possibility of mutiny and limits the potential damage if it happens, as the fewer people, in general, the less of a threat. (possibility of competing loyalties?)

Yes @tnu
but having council meetings with many different nations when you have assimilated them all, to pretend you have some kind of democracy, is very fun ^^ hahaha

But anyway, "The wasteland has its old symbols, it is time to build a new one"
A Great building somewhere with the TSC symbol or something, instead of rebuilding historical stuff, build, an historical building, like the washington building but with TSC symbols, you get the idea... =P

@tnu

You don't believe in alliances? Are you aware of the fact the TSC cannot assimilate everyone just because they're awesome?

Aliances are very important, when two powers cooperate to reach a common goal, the chances of succeeding are higher.
Aliances can also be based on trade (kinda the same the TSC and the RCSN) and trade is very important in the road to prosperity.

Alliances decrease the sovrignty of an indepentet power. US President George Washington warned against them when he left office. They only complicate things.

@Sterki, tnu
Military alliances, as I have said, are inappropriate when one party has such a vast technological advantage. In the case of the TSC/EBOS, there is just such a gulf, so the only reason to cooperate with Lyons is to keep him from getting wiped out by the mutants (which probably couldn't happen anyway).
Commercial relations, however, do not rely on absolute advantage, but on comparative advantage. If one party can produce good/service A really well (low opportunity cost), then by definition, it cannot produce B as well as another party can, even if efficiency of group 1 is superior in both goods. ECON 101 ppl. As long as trade is the only thing that goes through, it is possible for 2+ independent powers to maintain good relations. Once military action is part of the agreement, no matter the purpose or size, things can get hairy, and the guys giving the protection get less and less out of the arrangement.

"peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none" - Thomas Jefferson.

Keep in mind General that i'm on your side on this issue. completely and utterly.

Alliances does not decrease the independent powers. Especially on a post-apocalyptic world where survival is the word of the game.
