In response to post #7908472.

This is not caused by the mod. Sounds to me that the mp3 format has a variable bit rate or there might be a codec issue as well (which would be really rare, since it would be the first time I'd get to know related to Fallout New Vegas). What converting program are you using? Did you set the format to constant bit rate?

Thanks TT for your excellent work on this. I am having a problem. Here is what is going on….

Problem: Tracks that I put into the ‘RACE’ folder play…..but I am having the problem where when the song ends, instead of the next song playing, it will repeat the last part of the song that just played. It will play that last part (about 20 seconds or so) and come to an end. Then, it does it again, this time playing about 5 seconds. Only after this process will it go to the next new song. This happens with each successive song.

Resolution: You clearly state that a primary cause for this will usually be that the MP3 is embedded with IDTags. I opened all the MP3’s in ‘MP3tag’, v2.48….this is my MP3 tagger…..and I ensure that all tags are removed.

Other Programs Used: For MP3 encoding, I use LAME with the RazorLame frontend, version 1.1.5  I have the bit rate at 192, mono and I am ensuring that it is neither VBR or ABR.

I opened the files in MP3tag, including your ‘beeping’ files and they are the same. They all lack tagging info. The Codec listed for your file, MPEG 1 Layer III is the same as for my files. Your bitrate is 128 and mine is 192, but that is the only difference and from what I see, that should not matter at all.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Thanks!

Well, solved it. It seems that my RazorLame front end was still allowing for a small bit of a VBR, even though it was set to be off. I tried another frontend, 'Lame Front-End 1.8' and it worked fine. Thank you again for this mod. It is great!
