In response to post #11945640. #12058955 is also a reply to the same post.

I use first the OMOD, i create subject base omods. like: Body, Race, must, OBSE, Sound etc,
Than archive invalidation via OMOD
Than i load Boss - via Wrye - i lock than the load order
and than i make a bashed patch in Wrye - without the merging

200 mods tidy with subjects and no problems!

But back to this mod. Will somebody update this one and make an omod version of it?

I don't understand why everyone posting here has such a problem with the fact this is in OMOD format; like 70% of Oblivion's mods come in OMOD format. What I'm wondering is does this mod actually do what it says? I see a lot of people reporting problems.

Wonderful mod, just recently had an odd problem. At level one, every major skillup is worth one percent towards the next level. I don't think this has ever happened before and I'd really like to keep this mod, any suggestions?

I agree, personally I hate OBMM It's just so much easier to install mods manually but some mods dont like that lol.

So I don't know what's going on. Every time I level up, I choose to increase luck once. It never inceases past 59. I have choosen to increase it to 60 for the last five levels and every single time, it's stuck at 59. I can't understand why. It's not a disease or other debuff causing this. Please halp.

G'day all, sorry for the long time between replies. I haven't run/modded Oblivion in ages.

There seems to be many people confused by OBMM. I think there might be multiple problems contributing here. I wrote/used this with the original OBMM and there seems to have been a few splinter OBMM versions since then that might be confusing things. My link to the official OBMM doesn't work any more. Last time I checked all the OBMM forks didn't seem to be better than the original. I dunno where to find the original any more.

The official NMM claims to support OMODs, but last I checked doesn't actually support the omod install scripts. This means it claims to install the omod, but doesn't run the install script that is critical for correctly configuring it. This means people installing my mods with NMM will have broken installs that behave weird or just don't work.

For those who say "why can't you use Wyre Bash", last I looked at this OBMM was the only package installer with install script support that allowed you to do things like prompt the user for preferences, edit *.ini files, select what files to install where, and specify package dependency orders. When you use OBMM correctly it's the simplest install procedure ever, and saved me from heaps of newbie install questions. I think Wyre Bash has trained people to expect something more complicated and they now find OBMM confusing. The broken NMM omod support and OBMM forks don't help.

For those who can't install using OBMM, you will need to;

1) edit RealisticLeveling.ini and replace every <valueName> tag with suitable values. That file is well commented so it should be clear what reasonable values are.

2) copy one of the included "menus\levelup_menu_*.xml" menu files to/over the "menus\levelup_menu.xml" file in your "Oblivion\data" directory. Select the one that looks how you want it. You can delete all the other ones to tidy up the directory.

I think nearly every complaint I've seen can probably be answered with "it's not installed properly". Do step 1) and 2) above and it should start working. In particular;

Sigral: RL is not installed correctly. If you install it using OBMM, the install script will prompt you for what style of levelup menu you want, and it will replace the default levelup menu with one that doesn't have any choices. As per the docs, luck is a function of level, fame, and infamy, so will only change when your level/fame/infamy change enough.

Zachski's correct. I've had OBMM for less than an hour, and spotted it immediately. Here: http://imgur.com/a/iJ5LR

People having problems installing this mod; this mod requires special installation steps. Read the readme and note;

* NMM doesn't run OMOD install scripts, so it will not install this mod correctly. If you must use NMM then follow the instructions for a manual install.

* There are a few OBMM forks that IMHO are worse than the original. The original at the following location is known to work;

Oblivion Mod Manager

* There is also a promising looking update to OBMM called TesModManager that supports downloading from nexus. Check out the images in order on the mod's page for a nice pictorial illustration of how to use it. I've not used it but it looks good enough to recommend people try it;

TesModManager

Just a suggestion abo ... mod authors can disable the Download With Manager button. I think those NMM users who are singularly determined to use NMM can still find a way to try, but having no green Download With Manager button will cut down on the casual uninformed from clicking on it (yes I wish that Dark0ne had not turned it on by default on Oblivion Nexus ... what a supreme pain).
